Lee's first at-bat was called an error. Now the scorer has changed it to a hit. That is sad when a team has to cheat to help their player out.

I guess we now know why Lee is having such a good year.

The Cardinal announcers have made this out to be a big point and it could be as close as these two are in the batting race. Shannon said that no one is suppose to question or talk to the official scorer about judgement calls. Does anyone really think he was pressured to change his original call? The ball was hit right at Nunez and should have been made from all accounts I have heard.

It was a two hopper hit hard that was hit squarely at Nunez. Definitely not a hit. I tend to think that the scoring is more lenient toward awarding hits rather than errors anyway. That one wasn't very close.

every team gets the benefit of the doubt at home. I gurantee that the Cards have been given hits when they probably deserved to be errors.

This is pretty blatant cheating. The ball was hit right to the player; he did not have to move to his left or right. There was no doubt on this one according to the accounts I have heard.

According to a lot of posters here, the Cards are the only teamthat gets the benefit of the doubt at home. Heck thats the only reason they are so good defensively.....they never give them errors in STL!

wow... this is pathetic. I used to have a lot of respect for the Cards fans who post here.

I mean, come one, you guys are getting riled up over one little frick'n change. Stuff like this happens all the time, at EVERYBODIES home park. It happens here, in StL, in NY, wherever. Get over it.

You are right that the team would change a call that was actually correctly made the first time.

I'm a Cards fan...and I agree 100% with you. If the exact play happened to Pujols in StL, it would be a ruled a hit. Heck, LaRussa would have been on the phone to the official scorer if it wasn't.

thanks for changing the meaning of what I said. I called what you were saying pathetic. Can't just win the division, but you need to make sure that Cubs fans are miserable? Oh god, one little thing was changed, too damn bad. Grow up and stop looking for stuff to cry about.

Sheesh, you sound just like Mark Buehrle.

Just for the record, I have no problem with the change. Just noting that a few posters always claim that the Cards scorers give the benefit of the doubt to the Cards players and act like that is the only place where that occurs. When in reality it happens at every MLB ballpark.

Yeah i agree to, this happens in every ballpark its nothing to complain about. I do agree it should be an error, But i gurantee you there have been hits given to the Cards this year that should have been errors to.

Yes, I'm sure the scorekeeper hasn't been following Lee's production all year and suddenly realized "holy *! Lee is vying for a batting title, I better change it!".

Or he just likes conspiracy.

Idiocy at its finest (the thought process behind it).

If scorekeeper is "fixing" the batting title, why did he not call it a hit in the 1st place?

Somebody in CF just relayed what that pitch was going to be to Lee....Damn those cheating Cubs!

Matt Morris?

No I think it was TLR himself...he hasn't heard himself cry about that yet this year.
