CUBS are 10-22 when they hit an opposing batter, 50-44 when they don't

CUBS are 37-17 when they score first,.... 24-49 when they don't

I don't care how horrible we are. Cubs baseball is always more important than English.

I think we saw enough of Hill to know he wasn't ready and needed another pitch or two.

Is Barrett really a cleanup hitter though?

Maybe he ought to be ??

Team record by cleanup hitter

                        W L pct
1. Ramirez 29 37 0.439
2. Lee 3 5 0.375
3. Burnitz 27 23 0.540
4. Dubois 1 1 0.500
5. Barrett 1 0 1.000

Totals 61 66 0.480

Don't go by that chart or Burnitz would be hitting cleanup a lot.

with aram out this line up is worse than the rockies let alone not good enough to make the playoffs!

i can't wait for the hendry is a genius for not signing anyone because he knew aram would get hurt, along with everyone else so why waste the money or trade a prospect!.....kinda like the idea that it was ok not sign benetiz or percival because they got hurt this year.

hopefully cedeno hits 2 homers today, so baker's forced to play him !

Even if Cedeno goes 5-5 with 5 homers, he still won't get the majority of the playing time at short.

take away his fast start and he has barely been better. he will not improve, and we know what he brings! why not see what the kid can do for the rest of the season? don't like hill...let's see some other young gun.

I don't know. In 64.0 IP at AAA he has a 1.03 WHIP and 1.4 K/9. Neither is a very large sample size, but I don't think we saw enough of Hill in Chicago to determine anything.
