C'mon, Corey. None of that. =\

I called the DP:

Navin da Great (6:22 PM): wow, Neifi didn't swing at the first pitch

Navin da Great (6:22 PM): I call GIDP

Navin da Great (6:22 PM): I'd even call a GITP here

JonMDavis84 (6:22 PM): uh huh

Navin da Great (6:23 PM): I called that from a mile away

JonMDavis84 (6:23 PM): What ever happened to Neifi hitting infield popups?

I think Corey isn't going to learn. He's had his shot at being a starter. I say go into a different direction. A team having a realistic chance at a World Series, won't have major projects in the game.

On Sullivan's single, anyone notice Walkers lack of effort? Or was that ball out of his range?

Sure glad Corey had that month to clear his head and change his hitting approach. How about next time we make it a year?

I will be happy when K- Corey is no longer wearing a Cubs uniform.

Neifi and Corey are a black hole of offense on the team.

Corey has seen 2 pitches this game.

Terrible.

First pitch swinging wasn't a problem the first time - Corey got his pitch and hit it hard at someone. It was a problem the second time. Barrett has seen 2 pitches this game and is 2 for 2. Taking the first pitch everytime is not a good thing. You wait for your pitch.

Valid point. But when you're struggling like Corey Patterson, and trying to drive in runs, you do not swing at the first pitch at all. The guy isn't hitting well. Pitchers are throwing him garbage.

Rusch throws the ball away like El Duque did earlier today.

i really wish the cubs took more of the approach of the boston red sox. i think they are my favorite team to watch hit; they fight off good strikes, dont swing at balls way out of the zone, and make pitchers pay for bad strikes.

They have the best hitting philosphy imo in baseball. They drive the ball, use all fields, and do the little things needed to win the ballgame. Jackson seems to be an awesome batting coach. Manny and Ortiz drive in the big runs, but the guys around them get the sac flies, and move the runners when they need to.

It really wasn't hit that hard.
