I just read an article where somebody wrote in and said that the Cubs should re-design their logo and jerseys. I personally like the Cubs gray jerseys and their whites, but i do not really like the blue ones. They just seem to plain for me. What does everybody think about the possibility of a new jersey? Any suggestions on how u would make it?

At least the greys have Chicago across the chest were the blues just have the cubs logo. I woudl also be pretty upset if they changed their logo, but if they added another uniform i would not be too upset.

Hmm, I'd have to see the uniform before I could agree on it. If they came up with one of those sleeveless jerseys that are becoming popular, I'd never agree to it.

Maybe a pure white uniform or something like that. But I don't think we'll see that for quite some time.

1960's Uni's

1900 and up use next and previous

I think they should try an alternate without pinstripes at home, maybe with navy blue

I also love the Cubs pinstripes, but I wouldn't mind seeing a reappearance of the Cubs bear face that was used through the 80s and early 90s I think. It's the one on the sleeve, really cool logo.

If they are going to use a thowback, it's gotta be this logo.

If it were up to me, I'd ditch the pinstripes and go with the retro-ized red C logo with the little bear in the middle.

1929:

I know some people have an attachment to the pinstripes and the current logo (the red C with the 'ubs' inside), but the pinstripes were not used regularly until 1957 and the C'ubs' logo only became a standard feature after 1937. Yeah, I know all about maintaining tradition, but the team had a better record when they weren't using pinstripes with the now-standard logo - so screw tradition. :o

No alternate jersey at home plz.

No alternate jersey ever, unless they make one that doesnt suck.

Remember in the 80's, the road jersey? Why not make one that color, but with "Chicago" written across it, instead of the logo? Would look pretty hot, id think.

I love the 1908 and 1929 jerseys. Not surprising that those were the two best Cubs teams, either??

They'd need to add uni numbers to the backside, but otherwise I would love to see something like that. Do the suits even appreciate the ridiculous merchandise sales they would generate? I've gotta think it would add several millions to the bottomline, easy. I know I'd buy one or two.

If anything, I wish they'd replace the regular season alternate blues with the spring training blues. I prefer the navy blue. And I'm not a fan of the away greys.

I even preferred the mid-90's away jerseys with "Cubs" scripted across the front over the current ones.

Wow.... all these years we figured it was the curse of the goat, but it was really those damned pinstripes on the uniforms !!!!

                                                  World Series
CUBS W L pct PA W L
1876 - 1956 6157 5212 0.542 10 2 8
1957 - 2004 3599 3996 0.474 4 0 0

Let's lose the pinstripes and go back to the uniforms from the glory days of yesteryear !!!

The "Cuba" uniform of the early 90s was the best Cubs road uni. It was dropped ostensibly because the script looked like the Cuban national team.

As for the home suit, I think the current uni has become as much a classic as the Yankees, Red Sox, and Cardinals. My only suggestion would be to replace the walking bear with the standing bear with bat from the 1930s.

And lose the blue tops.

I think the uniforms themselves are just fine. I also like the fact they got rid of the names on the home unis. Just get rid of the red outline on the numbers and they'll be perfect.

Some other suggestions:

Alternate uniforms only on the road, and replace the walking Cub logo on the alternate with the standard C-ubs circle logo.

Get rid of those damn red billed hats on the road. I have no idea why they went with those.

One more suggestion: Use the sleeveless tops as an alternate uni. After all, the Cubs were the first to go sleeveless, back in 1940.

Ugh, please no sleeveless. I think those are extremely ugly.

I agree. Plus, sleeveless jerseys seem stupid from a marketing standpoint.

Few people, other than a very select population, would wear sleeveless jerseys to games and such as they require you to wear another shirt underneath. That sounds pretty freaking uncomfortable to me sitting in the stands on a 95 degree day with two shirts on.

Sleeveless jerseys are a bad idea.

Most people wear a t shirt under their jersey anyway. (I do not support sleeveless jerseys.)
