  1. Iam thinking of going this year to the Peoria event. Has anybody ever been before and are they worth going to. Any information would be a help.
  2. Iam not saying we should go after him, just saying Iam interested in what he will get. I dont think it is a bad idea to give him a contract loaded with incentives if the market for him seems weak.
  3. With Gagne's recent struggles with the Red Sox, what do you guys think he will get on the market. It has been said that he has been looking to sign to be the closer. I know we have a good pen but for some reason I think he can become good again. He will pry get a nice contract from somebody but I wouldnt mind a cheap contract heavy with incentives. It wouldnt hurt.
  4. Does anybody know where I can find a list of this years free agents. With all of this talk of the offseason it would be nice to know who will be available. Also, where can you find player and team options. I think they have to decide on those 10 days after the World Series ends?
  5. He pretty much said he would never cheat at the game of baseball. If this was for a medical reason then it is fine. So your saying that you would not give anything for a chance at the big leagues???
  6. I know that Paul Byrd is not the most talented pitchers in the world. But these types of stories just dont sit well with me. He is quoted in the story saying how he has trained to be the best pitcher he can be and that he would never use roids. Then he talks about the kids and they need to know only 7 percent of players use the roids. These players dont know how good they have it, anybody here on this board would die to have the chance that they have been given. I know that they are just trying to get a competitive advantage but if you cant do it clean then just give up. I sure would love to have his talent and the abilty he has been given and the opportunites he has been given. Sorry if this is a rant, and i know more of these stories are going to come out but I just think it is sick.
  7. Thats a very fair statement Mizzou. Iam not saying I dont like him as a person. I just dont like his approach at the plate. I actually think he handled being terrible for the first half of the season pretty well and alot of people would have just stopped trying and gave up hope, but he kept on going.
  8. All Iam saying is that I have a hard time rooting for him when his AB's look so bad. It really looks like he has no idea what he is doing at the plate some nights. Now you may say to look at other players but usually he sticks out to me
  9. I get the Jones has had a good stretch here of late but he still makes poor decisions and he has awful at-bats. Just like tonight in his last AB he looked absolutely horrible. I know the pitcher was pitching well but he has many AB's where he looks terrible. I dont understand it, part of it comes from his unwillingness to step closer to the plate. He will never hit a pitch that is on the outer half of the plate. Every pitch he hits has to be inside. Now yes I did cheer tonight and I cheer when he does well but he is just not a easy player to root for.
  10. I will be visiting this weekend for the Cubs-Reds Series. I have tickets for the outfield bleachers. We will be going to the Saturday night game and then the Sunday afternoon game. I was wondering if there is anything that we should do while we are in town or places to see. Also, if anybody has any good eating places that they know of let me know.
  11. Dont have my hopes up but i was crushed by the furcal news last night, now this??
  12. This news is brought to me by rotoworld.com What a shocker. Never thought that he would do steroids.
  13. I kow that they will be adding 1800 seats to the outfield bleachers, but will they be doing anything else around the stadium.
  14. His number in my mind should be retired. When i was growing up all I knew was Sammy Sosa and the Cubs. He was the man and still today he is the man. Wouldnt it be awesome to have him sprint out to right field on the day of his retirement.
