p.s. it's the first night game

 

I have a "let there be light" t-shirt from 8-8-88. That game was all I could think about yesterday.

 

BTW the shirt is a "Youth Small"...I was 11. Ah for the days of innocence in which I didn't realize how bad the Cubs were...sigh

Still watching the last bit of the news before the game...

 

The girl reporter yelled out "Go Cubs!" right before the show went off the air, and then you could hear the whole studio erupt in laughter. Greatest thing ever.

There's a cubs vs. mets game form '88 on ESPN Classic if anyone wants to watch the Cubs without having to watch the '05 Cubs.

Thats what I am watching...I miss Vance Law's glasses... :D I thought he was such a dork when I was a kid; boy was I an insightful child.

Also, how about that lineup? Palmeiro and Grace and Sandberg and MITCH WEBSTER!

Well, he said Dusty would try to kinda mix in the corner guys depending on the LH/RH matchups...which means Murton will probably just keep playing only against lefties.

Nor I, unless we try and trade Burnitz or Lawton through waivers (which is not a terrible idea, IMO.)

He is our best 4th OF IMO. Not that he has a whole lot of competition, though. But you are probably right about PT.

I agree even though he should get more playing time, Murton probably won't get more than 1 start a week.

Maybe we can convince the other team's pitchers to pitch with their left hands once.

We'll win because Javier Valentin isn't in the Reds lineup. I figured everyone would be happy with that, but I see no mention of it. Now, that's a guy who should be playing everyday for the Reds.

What is the meaning of this "happy" you speak of? It does not make sense in the context of thinking about a Cubs game.

It said in the Sun Times today that Dusty was going to sit Nomar today to let him rest. Is sportsline right? Is he playing?

 

Nomar is playing short stop and batting 5th, I believe.
