Patterson robbing that guy of a HR in April in Cincy, and DLee hitting a 500-foot HR over a 50-foot wall, a day after my math teacher whose a Sox fan, put a problem on a test w/ Lee hitting a mamoth blast

ill remember Jody Gerut for that awesome gem he had against Arizona i think it was. Ranks right up there with that inning in Cincy that Corey had.

Derrek Lee's 3 run bomb against the Reds to tie it and then Patterson's walkoff to win it was probably my favorite game of the year so far.

The play of the year for me is actually asking a girl out at a Cubs game she took me to in May. We have been dating ever since...LOL

Ok, back on topic:

For me it was Corey's D in Cincy.

Neifi's granny after I was just done yelling at the TV saying how much he stunk.

Last week's pins and needles games where we won.

Today, when Nomar gets in the starting lineup!

For as much as I hate his presence on the team, Neifi made my trip to Busch worthwhile. Highlight of the year easily for me.

Especially since you live behind enemy lines, huh?

I used to live in Saint Louis - ugh! God, I used get crap incessantly from all the Redbird fans at work. What a drag.

Is that 'Elvis is Alive' museum still out there?

Heh, I have no idea, I've only been in the area a month.

I remeber screaming at the TV "Neifi, YOU SUK!!!" and my wife getting pissed at me for being loud. then, BLAMMO!!! grand slam. I then yelled "Neifi, YOU ROCK!!!" while lauging my butt off.

my wife still wasnt happy with my outburts..oh well

  • *When Hank White threatened to slap Zambrano if he didn't throw a strike
*July 25 against the Cards, Hank went 4-5 with a homerun and two RBIs.
*July 29 against the D-backs when Blanco hit a monster homerun and then was intentionally walked
    *Maddux's Homerun
    *D-Lee beating Pujols in voting
*Prior and Wood's Triumphant comeback games

Corey's amazing catch to rob a home run. I saved it on my computer and still watch it from time to time. Simply amazing.

Oh, and any hit by DLee.

Ha, I love the slap threat! I laughed my ass off when I read about that.

Even though it didn't work, Zambrano's attempted hike to Lee, whereafter he fell on his backside.

If the "throw" would have beaten the runner, it'd be the play of the year in all of sports.

Sergio Mitre outdueling Roy Halladay, including him hitting the game winning hit.

Only for him to top himself in his next start with a complete game spanking of the Marlins.

Prior's first game of 2005, I was there it was beautiful.

Neifi's grand slam.

Any of the game's where Dlee picked up the other 24 players put them on his back and said, "I don't care how bad you guys suck, we ARE winning this game!".

Opening Day.

Aram hitting the blast in the bottom of the 9th against Cordero, to bad the ending to that game was :pukel:

Burnitz's defense. One that hasn't been mentioned, the one against the Mets where Dusty brought in Remlinger to get Beltran and Floyd, and Floyd just murders the ball but Burnie puts his back into the vines and jumps has high as he can and gets the ball.

Dempsters heart attack save the other night.

Good call on Mitre's games, Brian. I def. second that! I was on the edge of my seat both games cheering for Sergio. He's one of my favorite Cubs .

Maybe it's the recency effect, but the play that best embodies this year is the Barrett Dropped Third Strike/Blown Rundown: So close, yet so far.

I've only seen that once before. 1974. I was 11 years old. Cubs-Cards. Cubs has Ted Simmons in a run down between third and home. Can't recall the Cubs cathcer, but he chased Simmons back toward third then tossed to Matt Alexander (3B). Simmons turned back oward home to see nobody there. Alexander was very fast dude, but couldn't catch Simmons (and his long hair of the era) before he scored. Brickhouse and Kim West almost had a stroke.

Corey's HR against the Sox in Prior's return...

Corey's double play against Milwaukee

Corey's robbing of Joe Randa's XBH @ Cincy

Two huge plays...and one just looked pretty.

It's gotta be Tim Hosley or George Mitterwald. I guess it could be Larry Cox or Steve Swisher, but I think they were a little later, IIRC.

Wow, I got a bizzarely good memory for worthless crap. I looked it up...I'm shocked that I got the year correct!

The cather was Tom Lundstedt...who ever that was. And Tim McCarver was the batter who started the play.

Wow. I'm drawing a complete blank on Lundstedt.

I don't recall ever hearing of him.

I guess I'm just getting old. :(
