  1. Lurker reporting in!! :flythew:
  2. Thanks everyone! I took an extended break from baseball and last year pulled me back in. Freaking WGN America, lame. Appreciate the info!
  3. Question, everything shows it on WGN. I have DirecTv and my WGN is showing "Person of Interest". Apparently I am able to watch it on Fox Sports Arizona, which I have no special sports packages. I'm happy I'm able to watch, but what channel is everyone else watching it on?
  4. Give me 3 instances I have no dog in this fight, but I'll get it started w/ a game I was at: 1. Dan Norris, Tigers P, 2 run homer (1st ever AB), 19 August 2015.
  5. Hah, thanks guys. What, was Damon Buford busy? Oh well, back to the game thread! Go Cobs!
  6. I'm slowly getting back into the Cubs after taking a break from Baseball back in 07/08. I listened to XM broadcast of the game yesterday, and is it the same Ron Coomer as was our 3rd baseman for like a year in the early 00's? I have no opinion of him as an announcer after only hearing 1 game, but talk about random color guy for the Cubs?
  7. Following along on gameday, anyone watching? How are these infield hits looking?
  8. Well you guys are a bunch of bitter people. I guess following the Cubs will do that to you, as I haven't watched much the last couple of years. I just saw the story on another forum, and thought I'd check out what everyone thought here. Now I regret it, when I read people wanting him to be hit in the head again or intentionally walked...
  9. That's when a MOD would enforce no duplicate topics and merge or lock them.
  10. I see both points, but is it really that big of a deal if something fell to page 2? To me one master thread topic leads to a linear conversation where it's hard to go back and see where the conversation about the current topic actually starts. I'm coming at this from a perspective as a "new" member to the social forum, and not one who has been a part of it for the last XX number of years actively participating in the one long ongoing discussion. I'm not complaining or griping, just expressing my opinion.
  11. That brings up another question I have. I guess from someone who hasn't participated on the forum in a while it's a little daunting/difficult to get involved in a 300+ pagethread about movies/music/games etc. What exactly is the rationale behind having 1 master thread for topics? To me it makes it hard to go back and join in on the conversation. I guess i'm just more used to another format.
  12. I guess the take aways are that I, like most others, have just become apathetic to the Cubs over the course of the 2000's. That and the Social forum is the one to check out. That explains the message boards, but what gives with the home page having an article from November being one of the top stories? Does the board creator no longer update the page or does he suffer from the same apathy or grow tired of articles of our players going on the DL?
  13. Has there been any discussion on merging the "other baseball discussion" back with the Cubs discussion so there's just one forum for that? Like it was in the past?
  14. It seems like a ghost town? I guess I can answer the question myself, as the Cubs have infuriated me to no end over the last couple of years, but is that a common trend amongst all fans? I remember when this site had a lot more traffic. Did they all just decide to post somewhere else? Not exactly sure where this belongs, but it's kinda sad to see only 1 or 2 new posts a day?
  15. It was ruled that Punto left early, but he did not. Umpire blew the call. Thanks bro!

  19. How was the cards runner out at home? Left arly or out at plate? Am at bar and turned head. No sound
  20. Wow gameday showed him being very erratic
  21. Fonz caught it with like 2 feet to the wall. Scary! At least there was no damage
