That would have been nice to get called the 15 or so times Hill threw that pitch.

or just once...like the pitch right before glaus hit his homer.

another horrible call. i know it wouldn't do anything, but would it kill dusty to get up and argue once in a while?

You've been great all day, Dowdy.

My goodness...

Strike 3 was too close to take, though.

I don't know. It was clearly a ball and Hollandsworth saw it all the way. If it buckled him, then you have to hack at it. But it wasn't that close.

I am telling you people--it is hard to take.............D Lee trying to steal with nobody out, ARAM can't run hard...then Hill cannot get a call and on the very next pitch, HOMERUN.......we are about to get a runner on with 1 out and the ump decides to call a strike that is 6 inches outside--WHAT CAN WE SAY..........

Well, the Cubs have just pissed away another homestand. They need to win tomorrow for it not to be a terrible one.

And for the love of all that is good, Dusty, please sit Lee. His BA has dropped over 20 points in the past week.

Not trying to start an argument but that pitch looked very good, and way to close to watch. I do think the pitch to Glaus was a strike too, so you can argue that he was inconsistant. But no way should Hollandsworth be watching that pitch in the 9th inning with 2 strikes

That was a nice (if depressing) recap.

I still think you have to at least foul that off. It was barely off the plate.

Pathetic game. Our bats are dead and we keep making fundamental mistakes. The fact that we are barely above .500 at home is killing us. This team needs someone to provide a spark. I hope the return of a few players can do it next week, but i fear it may be too late.

When you're hitting .206 in a month and your team is down by a run in the 9th, you need to take what the pitcher gives you. It was a slow pitch that missed the zone by about two inches and both the batter and the umpire had a clear look at it. Dowdy was just terribly inconsistent (and terrible) behind the plate for both teams today.

If you're gonna press your panic buttons, the time is now. This team is in dire trouble.

You have the Marlins playing well, and getting solid pitching.

The Phillies hanging around.

Houston is winning every single game.

The Mets on the verge of getting AWESOME players.

Meanwhile the Cubs can barely score 2 runs a game. Aram is hurt, DLee is slumping, a rehabbed version of Nomar coming back, and a bad leadoff hitter.

I dont mean to be negative, but I'm being truthful.
