Peoria's starter may be wrong since that was a guess. Boise's site was down so I couldn't get the opposing starter.

Spent the day with the Diamond Jaxx today and I'm in the press box now. Sorry, I won't have it on during the game. In any case, looking forward to seeing Nomar tomorrow and I have some great news to report later!

Mesa: (0-3, 0.90)

Man, what a crazy line.

They're just preparing him for a career with the Cubs. Great ERA. No run support. Of course, has he pitched 5 innings in a game yet this season? :-k

The Jaxx are getting no hit through 8

Game over - DJaxx were no-hit.

Stinks that it happened to the DJaxx ... but I'd be a *little* happy to see a pro-game no-hitter in person. I never have.

Corey's starting in CF tonight for Iowa and batting second.

And he's 1-2 with a double and strikeout so far.

Wellemeyer is back in there. He has struck out 3 and walked 1 in addition to giving up 3 hits through 3 scoreless. He has yet to get a groundball out.

Peoria lost 9-4

Urgh, looks like only 4 of the Ft. Wayne runs were earned. Granato with 3 errors at 3B. I'd have to check, but I think his last brutal D-game was at 3B as well.

And:

Sam Fuld left the game in the 2nd inning after re-aggravating a strained oblique muscle.

Wellemeyer's final line: 5.1 IP, 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned, 2 walks, 3 strikeouts.

Todd had a shutout through 5. He left in the 6th with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out.

No, he has been on a pretty low pitch count. Two out of his three losses came from unearned runs since he has only given up two earned so far.

After three straight walks and a pitching change to leadoff the 8th inning, Patterson singled to drive in a run. He's 2-4 with a double, RBI, and strikeout. The I-Cubs scored 3 in the inning to tie the game.

Williamson went back out there and pitched the 8th. He gave up a leadoff single, groundout FC, groundout FC, error on a pickoff throw, and groundout. His final line: 2 IP, 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts, 1 HR.

Bartosh went out for the 9th, though, and gave up a run on 2 hits and a walk to take the loss.

Ugh, saw history.

The only good thing that came from today is that NSBB gets to ask a few questions to Nomar tomorrow! :willynilly:

Was always a big fan of that kid... he absolutely rakes but always seems to hurt himself. Hopefully this year he's staying healthy and can turn into a good player for the M's.
