How could he? Murton and Barrett had already replaced their counterparts, the 9 spot hadn't come up yet.

 

maybe hairston/gerut to cf, macias to 3rd, neifi to ss, dempster in ramirez or cedenos spot. would that work? just seems odd, cause now he'll have to pinch hit and lose his best reliever if we don't win in the ninth.

 

I doubt Dempster's good for more than one inning anyway. He's thrown 3 days in a row before last night, and that's a lot of adjustments just for that.
