Barry Rozner's favorite GM not in baseball today made it into his column again.

Daily Herald

Lots of e-mail support for the Cubs’ acquiring Matt Lawton or Cliff Floyd, but Sanjay H., my favorite GM not working in baseball today, has another idea:

“The Cubs need a leadoff hitter and another power bat, and the Rangers need starting pitching. I propose dealing Corey Patterson, Todd Walker, Glendon Rusch and Sergio Mitre to Texas, for David Dellucci, Alfonso Soriano and Kameron Loe.

“Money is almost a wash and the Cubs’ lineup would be Dellucci (LF), Jerry Hairston (CF), Derrek Lee (1B), Jeromy Burnitz (RF), Aramis Ramirez (3B), Soriano (2B), Michael Barrett © and Ronny Cedeno (SS).’’

Is it fair to assume that since the media reads the boards, that some of the Cubs (even Baker) read them too?

Although I cannot guarantee that any MLB player has visited the site, I do know that some Minor League guys have visited.

I wonder if Hoops actually emailed that, or if Rozner just took it straight from the "Could this deal with Texas make sense" thread in the transactions forum. :D

If so, the least he could've done is plug the site!

Ugh - the least the writer could have done was take a good trade proposal! I have nothing against Hoops, but I dislike that trade idea immensely.

About Dusty visiting here.... Do any of you actually think he gives a rats behind what we thing about him or the team?

That was my thinking.

It's always bad times when someone affiliated with the team visits a message board. Dave Duncan visited Cards Talk once anonymously, posted something (I think something positive about Chuck Finley but I could be wrong) and he got ripped to shreds by a ton of posters. When they found out it was Dunc, the anti-Duncussa or LaDuncan (whichever you prefer) faction came out of the woodwork and made fun of him to no end. It was ugly.

Say it with me now...m-o-d-e-r-a-t-o-r-s.

I absolutely love the fact that we've got one of the beat writers for the Cubs as a regular reader here, one of the minor league announcers, we've had minor league players come online and browse (and post???). A lot of people have complained that we run a "country club" type of atmosphere here or claim censorship...but our ability to attract and retain some of these people is only possible because we keep that type of thing under control. The people on that website could have benefitted tremendously by having Duncan contributing from time to time but lost that by allowing a few people to drive him away.

Not to be a suckup, but that's why this is the best baseball forum I've ever read. Your moderators do their job and actually take pride in running a great forum.

Amen.

I came here because it was a great place to talk baseball with knowledgable people, and no trolls. People on other boards complain that NSBB doesn't allow conflicting opinions which is completely untrue. They don't allow people who come here only to get a rise out of others. And that's what is great.

I completely disagree.

Better a country club than a nuthouse.

I've got some Huggies wipes in the car you guys might need to use. It looks as though you have a stain on the tip of your nose.

How did anyone know it was Duncan? Did he talk about it to the press or something?

You'd have to ask somebody who actually saw the post. I wasn't a poster there yet, but have heard the incident referenced many times by some of the older posters. I think what happened is Dunc got really ticked and started cussing some of the faction guys out. For all you Cub fans, the faction is a group that tries to get Tony and Dunc run out of town. They even hired a plane banner saying that Tony and Duncan sucked during spring training a couple of years ago. Duncan's post was ridiculous. He was defending some move that he pressured Walt to make (CoCo Crisp for Chuck Kittaen I believe) and was getting ripped on for the obvious stupidity of the trade. Apparently he is a sensitive and tempermental guy because he just went off. Then the moderator got involved and banned a bunch of people and I believe Bernie Miklacz let it leak that the guy was Duncan. His SN was DDuncan or some other obvious moniker.
