94.4 average on a night where he threw 70+ pitches.  It's not quite as high octane as when he was at the height of his prospectdom but definitely looks like a major leaguer.  And he got a ton of groundballs.

Another start or three like this and you probably have to 40 man him this winter?

I don’t think anyone is questioning him getting a call up based on what he has done this year. I think it is more a discussion of what is best for him and the team going forward. Do you put him on the 40 man, therefore having to take someone off the 40 man?  If they put him on and there is a lock out he is looked out too. If he isn’t on the 40 man he can work out with the minor league team. I honestly don’t know what is the best decision on that, but I trust the Cubs FO. So if they add him, that is fine. But if they don’t, it isn’t because he didn’t deserve it, it is because they think it is best for his and the teams future to hold him back from the 40 man roster.
