Wish theyd get rid of that off day in middle of the first series, it kinda useless.

How weird is it to schedule a DH in middle of a road trip, and theyre going to be scheduled to play 17 games in 18 days.

The Cardinals are getting very familiar with spending 4th of July at Wrigley.  Third straight season for that.

How about seeing Philadelphia in April, and not see them again until late September.

I don't mind the schedule. We get all the west coast trips out of the way in June. Hate the fact the Cubs are going to Atlanta during the week. Another year for that.

No it is not. I makes opening day tickets valuable. If I had tickets to opening day and it got rained out and there was a vane the next day for probably 1/4 of the ticket price I paid for opening day, I would be pissed. As it stands now if opening day gets rained out the next day is opening day and the same tickets works not sure why this is something that bothers you. It makes perfect sense.

Does it make sense beyond 'it makes sense for the financial well being of the people owning opening day tickets'? That sounds snarky but it's somewhat genuine, I just don't think it's a real concern in terms of setting up a schedule where you're allocating like 15 days off over a 6 month period and one of them is automatically after game 1. But I'm happy to hear why otherwise.

Looks like a bit of a hard-ish schedule in March/April before becoming soft-ish in May. I expect to be 0-0 for the majority of it.

It makes sense because it keeps OD as a special game. It doesn’t make sense in a dome stadiums,  as an example. They don’t have to worry about the weather. The day off after OD is not done to rest the players after a game. It is 100% done to make that day special. So having 15 days off all season  doesn’t really matter in this situation. If they didn’t take the day off the season would just start one day later. As a general rule, with some exceptions, the day off after OD is done so that it can be a special day for the team and its fans. An actual day of rest for the players isn’t even considered

I guess that does make sense in a way.  It gives them a little more room to play with on the back end, should the season need to be delayed/adjusted.

I never thought I would see October postseason baseball beginning in late September, but if everything goes well in the lockout (I don't expect that to happen) then we're going to have it in 2027.

I hope there is a season next year.  They showed the logo for the 2027 ASG. I went in 1990 as a kid.

That's gonna be a lot of Cubs All Star shirts headed to third world countries when the season gets cancelled.
