New York Yankee stars Derek Jeter and Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez have stopped beating themselves up for their team’s worst season in over a decade—and started beating on each other. On June 20, after a throwing error from Jeter to Rodriguez handed the Yankees a 5-4 loss to the last-place Tampa Bay Devil Rays, a TV producer says the sluggers came to blows in the clubhouse.

“I was doing an interview in the locker room and saw them go at it,” says the source. “A-Rod walked past Jeter’s locker and mumbled something about his throw, then Jeter told him to go f$%$ himself and all hell broke lose. Their teammates were pulling them away from each other.”

The whole team ought to beat up Tony Womack. His offense is unfathomably awful for a corner outfielder and he's not even a good fielder.

If they need to trade A-rod for the sake of Chemistry, we can take him.

Neifi for A-Rod straight up? We could throw in Remmy..........I hear the Yanks need a lefty.

i couldnt disagree more with whoever said jeter was a cancer. i would take him at SS any day of the week. could you imagine plugging jeter into our lineup? it would be sick sick sick.

Arod i would also take, but we're pretty set with Aramis. im thinking jose macias would look good in yankee pinstripes. maybe macias and hollandsworth would be enough to pry jeter....

Um, Arod is a shortstop to the other 29 teams in baseball

Obviously, you're not a golfer.

Or an Astrologist.

Arod isn't a shortstop on the Orioles...

Why? He is better offensively and defensively at SS than Tejada.

the A's miss tejada more than anyone thought they would, it would seem his value goes beyond his awesome stats

i agree. if you have tejada and Arod on the same club, tejada plays short and Arod plays 3B.

SS jeter

2B walker

1B lee

3B ramirez

RF burnitz

C barrett

CF patterson

LF dubois/hollandsworth

Look at the two players contracts. Why on earth would you choose Jeter over A-Rod?

Next year, it will cost the Yankees more for Jeter than it will for A-Rod.

Because Jeter's intangibles make him the best player in baseball. Without him the Yankees wouldn't have won any of those World Series! Plus he made the greatest catch ever last year. Haven't you been watching ESPN?

If that catch where he lands on top of Cano ends up being a top Web Gem of the year, I may very well puke.

I can't believe I haven't seen David Wright's catch into the stands since the day it happened. He actually had to dive into the stands and sacrifice his body. If someone like Jeter or Edmonds made that catch, I would have seen it at least 100 times by now.

Jeter is a champion, without question. last year when he got off to his terrible start he still played gold glove defensively and by seasons end his BA was like .280 or something.

ill take jeter, ill take Arod, it really doesnt matter to me. but the truth is we'd have to give up prior or zambrano in any scenario, and to me thats not acceptable --given their youth, production, and especially position and contract status.

i would strongly consider a deal with wood for either one, but again wood's apoximate $10M is significantly lower than both Jeter and Arod's salaries. and in the end, you cant trade pitching because than we're looking at a rotation of Prior, Zambrano, Maddux, Williams, and Rusch or Mitre. Given recent history, we need a 6th potenial fill-in starter in case of Prior getting injured. The rotation with Prior on the DL could not stay afloat. Yes, we have stayed afloat this year without Prior and Wood for significant stretches, but dont forgot Prior (and to a lesser extent Wood ) has given us some great performances this year.

It would be too risky to go at 2006 with a rotation of Prior, Zambrano, Maddux, Williams, and Rusch. Its too thin if an injury goes down, unless Hendry can secure a legit #3 starter or a closer to move Dempster back into the starting rotation.

jeter has never and will never play gold glove defense. the most common thing heard on yankees broadcasts is "and past a diving jeter"
