Kevin Alcantara with yet another dong.  Strikeout rate steadily falling over the last ~month as well

Scary part is, its not even the 4th of July yet. This could be leading up to a monster 2nd half for him if he continues his trends.

Arbitrary endpoints but whatever.  Since 4/28:

76 PAs, 26.3% K, 11.8% BB, .284/.355/.612, 7 dongs

Contact numbers are trending in the right direction while the groundball rate is normalizing.  I have a feeling those are not independent.  My guess is he got too uppercutty early in the year and piled up the K's (and dongs) and now he's found a bit more of a sustainable balance.

I’d like to se KA in CF this weekend and PCA on the bench. There is a teaching moment somewhere in here that I hope Counsell finds. The White Sox altercation, back to back days with mental mistakes against the division rival at home. Mistakes of not finishing the play. It shouldn’t stand. (It’s also obvious he needs a mental break.)

He’s my favorite player on the team, but horsefeathers like that shouldn’t go unchecked. (Like Shaw bouncing on the team to watch fireworks.)

Problem is, no one else can play CF with any regularity but the guy finally starting to clobber AAA.

I dont hate that idea at all. PCA is clearly pressing right now.

With Mo struggling I could see bringing up Alcantara and him even getting enough AB weekly for it to make sense. Not saying PCA doesn’t play against lefties, but he could be given a day Alcantara can also play a corner spot and let Seiya or Happ DH. If they can find 3 days a week to play KA it makes some sense to bring him up.

Yeah. Agreed. That's compelling enough for me to do it. Could possibly give the lineup the jolt it needs to get out of this funk.
