I feel like KC didn't really need to trade up for him

I don't get it, trade up only 3 spots, giving up two other picks.

Yep, 2.5 hours until the Bears pick was the correct call.  First ten took about an one hour, next ten probably will take another hour, then 20-30 minutes to the Bears' slot.

Gotta admit that "1st round NFL quarterback" was not the first thing that came to mind when watching Ty Simpson play for Alabama last season.

Team that comes up just short of the Super Bowl takes someone at 13 that absolutely does not move them closer this year.

When your QB is 38 (and had retirement rumors swirling due to back issues pre-season) and you see a QB you think is good, I don't think how the previous year ended means all that much.

That's fair. I just feel like as a fan, I would be desperate for my team to move the needle in that direction. And of course, I am not impressed with Simpson. But I'm just a nobody spending my Thursday on the couch watching, so what do I know?

I mean, anytime you can get a less athletic Daniel Jones in the first round, you have to jump at that chance.

I don't follow college football at all, so I know even less.  But in general, I think QBs go later than they should, and it's entirely because of risk-aversion to bust rates. Painful when you lose, but when you hit, it's just worth soooo much.

Do you trade up for Bain at this point?

Only if he falls to like 20, but it's moot at this point since Tampa took him at 15, which isn't a huge slide from the expected range.

Wild for the Lions to reach for an OT with Freeling on the board.

Freeling goes 19 to Carolina.

Top 6 names on the board right now (meaning at least one will get to 25):

Makai Lemon    USC    WR
Jermod McCoy    Tennessee    CB
Dillon Thieneman    Oregon    S
Keldric Faulk    Auburn    EDGE
Avieon Terrell    Clemson    CB
Akheem Mesidor    Miami (FL)    EDGE

This is a sneaky good move for the Rams.

Trading for McDuffie helps the Rams now, taking Simpson helps the Rams once Stafford retires. Was it too high to take Simpson? They secure their QB of the future and with McVay, I have very little doubt Simpson will become a solid QB.
