Why are people projecting so many off days for people? We're 4 games from the All Star Break. Our guys will get their rests then.

 

I can definitely see giving Barrett some extra days off, gotta be tough putting all that equipment on with 90+ temperatures and high humidity for the last week and a half.

I kind of figured Macias might get a start because today as Dusty is prone to give guys days off when they've won the first two games of a series. At least he's hitting 8th.

So let me be the great prognisticator.

 

Todd Walker (really good, but lefty) will be benched

Corey (slumping beyond all slumps, lefty) will play

Hairston (will sit even though he could start)

Perez (will play, cedeno will sit)

 

Dubois will start (and he should).

 

This is where I give Corey the night off, play Hairston in CF, and play Walker since all he is doing is hitting.

 

My lineup, we'll see how close I am.

Perez/Cedeno

Maddog.

 

Now an alternative if Cedeno plays could be this:

I'd rather have seen Holla get the start over Macias. I'm not a Holla fan but he hit the game winner yesterday so maybe he could ride the good vibes from that. Anything is preferrable to Macias.

Macias in RF? That'll be an experiment. Burnitz probably did need a day off, but i'd also rather see Holla in RF.

It would be nice if Baker showed a little faith in Cedeno right out of the box and batted him 2nd. Rather than trying to get Corey out of an extended slump, why not give Cedeno a chance to excel?

 

I'm not a fan of the outrageously righty lineup anyway. I'd rather have a pitcher be forced to deal with more than one lefty so he doesn't get too comfortable, but thats me.

Isn't there another lefty on the mound? I don't know that Dusty has played him against Southpaws.

Walker is 5 for 10 against lefties so far this year. His 3-year splits show his BA is about .05 points lower against the lefty than righties though.
