  1. This is true. In 2004, when the Diamondback were absolutely awful, they still owned the Cubs.
  2. Oh my jesus. That would make my life complete. Speaking of which. Does anyone have that picture from the SF/Philly game a few years ago where some fans held up a giant banner that said "Babe did it on hot dogs and beer, Aaron did it with class, you did YOU do it" surrounded by a bunch of people holding up giant *'s. I have it as the desktop on my laptop, but I want to save it on this computer. http://star.walagata.com/w/orual/bonds2.JPG
  3. In this month's Vineline...
  4. Here is what I just don't get: What, exactly, is the group suggesting? The Braves are discriminating against all American-born people of African heritage, but people of African hertiage who were born outside of the US are just fine? If the Braves really just hated black people, I think it would extend to Edgar Renteria and Rafael Soriano regardless of where they were born. If the Rainbow-PUSH Coalition really cared about getting African-Americans into the MLB, it would focus on inner-city youth baseball. That is probably the most distinctive memory of going to visit my grandparents in Decatur. Of course, my dad used to say it was my grandmother...
  5. The XM announcer keeps calling Cliff Floyd "Lee." :(
  6. You think chicks are doing much of the voting? :P
  7. Did anyone else hear the announcers say something about Barry Bonds playing in 1951? Maybe I'm just crazy, but I'm sure they said it.
  8. Are you saying that you don't see the clear connection between the Chicago Cubs and baldness?
  9. Rowand and Utley were both running after a Mabry blooper in short center and completely crashed into each other. Eek, those plays are always scary.
  10. Actually, this is the one game a week a allow myself to care about. C'mon, Carlos! Eight straight!
  11. I don't think I'm going to get to see this game, and I always look forward to Zambrano's starts. :( Stupid St. Louis and its mass power outages.
  12. Nice save, Toupee  How's this, then: After watching the game Saturday, I tried to explain to my aunt why Carlos Zambrano is so cool. She didn't understand. That clearly means that his coolness defies all words and transcends into the realm of that which simply "is". Now, I didn't say that anything else is/was/ever has been present in this realm, so it's all okay.

  14. Nomar, obviously, is at the top of the list. I wish we still had him. I also miss Clement. I felt so sorry for him in 2004 when he could get a win for anything. I also kind of miss Hollandsworth. I'll never forget that catch in Anaheim where he ran face first into the wall.
