Any chance in hell of sending Maddux to the Pen and having either Mitre or Hill become our 5th starter? That way we are guaranteed to not have his option vest.

Oh and you guys were right about not IBB Carlos Lee in the first, I defintely would have pitched around him though.

Maddux just plain sucks. After just seeing the score on yahoo and the 5ER next to maddux makes the rest of my work day suck even more.

Yeah, I hate having HOF pitchers on our team...

Does that mean we should sign Jim Palmer and Steve Carlton?

Finally, an inning where Maddux doesn't give up a run.

Don't you get the feeling that you could steal off of Maddux? Even if you happen to be a paraplegic?

I think the Dread Pirate Roberts could steal off Maddux even after being mostly dead all day.

I'm not a big fan of the veteran respect philosophy when it comes to playing time, but when it comes to one of the best pitchers of the last 20 years, I'd think this is something Maddux would have to initiate. What's tough is that he's so inconsistent. He can still be darn good for some starts. It's just these bad outings get to be tough to take.

Hairston takes 8 pitches Corey takes 1.

Corey falls below .240.

Corey - swung at a fastball strike right down the middle but missed it

Hairston - struck out on a ball way out of the strike zone that would have been ball four

It just feels like we can't get over that hump and sweep a series. I think we've only swept one all year. Not that today is over, but just commenting.

Because Dusty rests everyone when we have a chance. Macias in right? He also benched our hottest hitter in Walker...even though I know the split theory. Plus Maddux is throwing batting practice.

The Maddux part of that equation seems like the biggest problem today. Two runs in three innings against a pretty decent pitcher isn't bad.

I don't think Maddux to the pen is realistic. Unfortunately Maddux right now is a little worse than he was last year at this time. In June 2004 he had 1 disaster outing, giving up more runs than innings pitched. It was his third of the year. Unless he goes 3 more innings without giving up a run, this will be his second in June 2005 (3rd on the year). But his ERA will close June about 4.75 or worse. Fortunately we can expect some improvement in July and August. But he probably will not be as good as last year.

I'd take Hairston's at bat everytime. Hairston ran the count full, then struck out on a good pitch. Corey fouled out to the catcher on the first pitch.

yeah but the weather plays tricks on that. Both ways I guess. Macias should never ever start. There are so many other ways to move guys around that make more sense.

I think I broke the board.

It's been like this for a long time. Hoping that the new phpbb is coming soon...

i know. What's the problem, exactly?

Check this link here.

In addition to that, the board is also getting spikes of guest traffic, which slows everything down as well.

*sigh*
