Even though home vs away isn’t decided?  I’m not saying you are wrong but that would be poor strategy IMO.  We still need wins.

I don't know how to phrase the opposite of this, but Counsell famously doesn't chase wins, he has a good grasp of winning probability and won't waste top arms trying to mount comebacks. A 6-1 game had us at roughly 90% to win, knowing he wanted to limit Horton's pitches and trying to avoid an injury, recurring blister, etc. he might have figured it was the right gamble to take it home with the pen. Obviously it maybe didn't work (game is far from over).

Or he's hurt and we're screwed.

Do they even want to play at Wrigley in the WC round? Not really acting like it at all

You can even ask if they even want to play in the postseason, because they're definitely not acting like that either.

There's zero energy in this team and it been this way for awhile now

I agree, momentum can be huge heading into the postseason

Whatever dude. Your just a troll and a miserable human being. You have proved it through the year and in case we weren’t sure you confirmed it the last 2 days.

The point is you don’t follow enough to know that his errors have opened the door the last few years. Watch and learn and you’ll see the trend. Get beyond your hate. I’m talking baseball. Let it go.

88 wins with 10 games remaining in the regular season and you wouldn’t bet money right now that they’d finish the regular season on 90 wins. What a horsefeathers show it’s been since clinching the wildcard.

If Swanson does not make that error, we are fine.  I am so sick of him making big errors at the end of seasons. What a choke this game would be if the Cubs lose.

Swanson has a history of this crap. If you want to ignore it that’s okay. He is part of the problem

We get it. Agreed. Enough already.  He does some good things too.

I call BS on Horton injury..lol

They wait til the 6th inning when they fall behind to announce it.

It wouldn't surprise me if Hoyer/Counsell made it up to save themselves from pulling him after 3 with a 5 run lead cause they thought the game was in hand and Soroka would be able to get them through the 6th and the bats would add on.

Just saying 🤷‍♂️

He's part of the problem, yet I only see you blaming him. He's been a phenomenal defender in his Cubs career and its up to the pitchers to overcome errors. Theyre part of the game. He didn't allow 5 runs to score.
