Seiya to LF, Mo at DH and IMO the Cubs get better.  They'd never do that to a vet like Happ but the truth is, the Cubs need a guy that can spray singles and doubles and I'd already take Mo's bat over Ian's

You're paying attention to full season numbers. Happ is dwarfing Seiya's production over the last few weeks. Seiya is killing us.

At least we’ve been able to see that Kyle Tucker isn’t worth the $500 million the a Ricketts family isn’t going to give him. Am I right?

They'll probably offer 10/300 and lose out to a team that'll offer something around  12/360.

Id be very surprised if he gets 400 mil unless he has a big September.

I wish Shaw was at 2b, Nico at SS, and Dansby someone else's problem.  All dreaming aside, Shaw has been the story of the 2nd half.

Dansby isn't going anywhere with that ridiculous contract.

Throw PCA 50 left-handed breaking balls and he'll whiff and chase 50 times.

We have pre August 2024 PCA without Mike Tauchman to pick him him up. The whole lineup is a carbon copy of the first 88 games, just replace a mediocre Bellinger with a mediocre Tucker and subtract Tauchman.

Man I wish people would stop saying Tucker is having a mediocre season

I’m talking right now over the last month. He’s hit 1 home run since the all star break. He was brought in to pick up a slumping offense and he’s been a non factor relative to expectations for way too long.

he's in a horrible slump but the early season success doesn't count less than his recent struggles. ultimately he's not far below the expectations heading into the season, and one hot streak puts him right back to where we hoped

I sure hope he surpasses his HR total from last year when he played half a season frfr

if you expected his numbers from last season that's on you

you're all making it really easy for the cubs to let him walk

I’ll give Tucker the benefit of the doubt thanks to body of work, although his bat speed has reportedly dipped, what can we expect from PCA Seiya and Busch? Obviously they’re slumping, but it seemed like they really turned a corner pacing to have breakout seasons and all of the sudden all 3 have no pop, the league has made adjustments and their wRC+/OPS are all nose diving back to a level of the caliber of player they truly are? I expect them to bounce back of course but this team is a World Series contender if we get the same guys from the first half and not complete stagnation after they climb out of slumps  plateauing around a low 800’s OPS mark. And PCA is in mid first 200 PAs form.

I wouldn't say his season is mediocre, but it is a bit disappointing overall especially after the first three months he had, looking like a 30/30 guy with a solid average, 900 OPS, and driving in 100 RBI.

July and first couple weeks of August he turned into Jason Heyward with the bat 🤷‍♂️

You don’t play a 0.3 WAR player over the NL’s WAR leader who can help your team win in a ton of ways. You just don’t.

Seems like old Counsell is contemplating some of what we discussed 🤷‍♂️

Some may argue it was a “rest day” for PCA, and it very well could have been just that. The young man needs to clear the mechanism; something that playing every game never allows you to do. Castro was no bueno today, but I understand sitting PCA, Suzuki and even Tucker. “WAR” or whatever; you also “just don’t” sit on your laurels and hope they snap out of it because they had (past tense) good stats. Gotta do what is best for the team - if that means moving guys around in the lineup, DFA to work out their stuff, or sit on the pine for a few games, so be it.
