The whole event has changed. The home run derby has went from an evening event to making sure the event ends in 2-2.5 hours. The Josh Hamilton home run derby at the old Yankee Stadium will always be magical.

I don't mind the pregame festivities as much, but strongly disagree with the selection progress. Christopher Sanchez should 100% be in over Jacob Misioroski. And the Cubs should have more than 3 players in the event. The MVP of the first half shouldn't be batting 9th.

Just glad they brought back the teams jersey.  No more of this "American" and "National" gimmick non-sense.

I thought the home run derby was fine last night.  It seems like they tweak the format every year, but I'm not sure what they could really do better.  I'm partial to the old school, head-to-head 9 inning format, but I doubt that would work in an ASG setting.

The derby sucked, almost entirely because of the presentation. Terrible camera angles, terrible announcers, impossible to follow

It’s to keep his defense in as long as possible. Starters will come out after two PAs. PCAs PA will be the latest in the game. At least that’s what I’m telling myself.

Yeah, I can't disagree with that.  I think if you were watching it in person, it would be a very cool event, but it is really difficult to follow the path of the balls on TV with the camera bouncing all over.
