The other option was Ballesteros and it not like Happ would of missed any games, he still would have returned yesterday. Could of played in Iowa over weekend.

I assume he came back as soon as he was healthy, unless you're suggesting he could just like, stood in the box in Iowa to time pitches or something.

Ballesteros gave us a sub-500 OPS in his time here and we went up against a lefty starter yesterday.

What does that have to do with anything?

Happ looks dead up there so far

You said "you can see if you were returning to face the Sox or the Rockies" suggesting that it's okay to not do a rehab stint if you're facing a bad pitching staff. The Marlins have been the second worst pitching staff in baseball so far - worse than the White Sox.

I don't think a hitter needs a rehab stint after 10 days, you're the one who is harping on it. Yet, by your own admission, the Marlins should be one of the exemptions.

He didn't just get healthy yesterday, his 10 days were up.

I dont care if anyone disagrees,  it just my opinion, and I just think that these guys could benefit playing a couple games in minors before returning to face live pitching and in game action.

No, I could see if they played for the Sox or Rockies (bad teams) and just returned to them

So to clarify: players on bad teams don't need rehab stints, but regardless of who the other option is, players on good teams need rehab stints? Even if they're playing the bad teams?

Yeah, I'll go ahead and just say "highly disagree" and let it go.

Totally not what I said but ok..

I think everyone could benefit from a game or two in minors after an IL stint to get readjusted to live in game pitching.

But

I could see players who are returning to a team that not playing well overall to just return there over minors to get readjusted because those games aren't as meaningful as far as standings goes for the team.

Do I even ask - who would close this game?

Did you all see that in ESPN's updated prospect rankings, Ballesteros (36) is ahead of Shaw (38)?
