Doesnt he have a career FIP and ERA over 5? I think hes sucked a decent sample size. 
 

His numbers in the minors havent been impressive either.

He was a top-100 prospect and has 80 IP across 2 years so far. He was showing signs of growth before an injury last year. There hasn't been enough time to determine top-100 guys as a "bust".

Wicks did a good job keeping it together and limiting the damage.  His throw wasn’t great but totally catchable.

Wicks has certainly not been great... but he's no lost cause and we've certainly trotted out worse pitchers plenty. But my response was more about the feeling I got from the comments that I thought had more to do with his recent performances than anything else.

I didn’t call him a bust. I do not believe he belongs on a major league roster, especially on a team that already had a terrible bullpen.

But...why? Who's better? Wicks struck out 5 across 3IP in Iowa. Luke Little can't throw strikes. Nate Pearson sucks. Who in Iowa needs to be up over Wicks? 

There isn't a single arm in Iowa I can find who demands being on the MLB roster. They might as well roll with Wicks as of now, a pitcher who really needs to be given a bit of MLB runway.

I don't think hes a perfect BP option, but there really isn't another choice right now.
