Outside of their 56-0 drubbing of Kent St, Penn State's point differential has been +4 in the first half and +73 in the second half. Really can't afford to get down early to Ohio State

Not in this position often, but these polls piss me off. The voting is clearly influenced by helmet scouting and not what's happening on the field. Ohio St struggled with a Nebraska team IU beat by 50. I know that's not the end-all, be-all and IU may never get to prove they are better than the teams ahead of them, but they have a better resume than at least 3-4 teams ahead of them.

Kurtis Rourke at Indiana seems like a QB prospect

Think they could give Oregon a game?  I don't know, I have hard time seeing Indiana being able to handle Oregon' speed.

Hope A&M doesn’t lay an egg after a huge win this past week.

I saw that a lot of metrics have that game as basically a coin flip. Classic trap game.

Rourke is one of those guys that looks like a middle of Day 3 pick (5th or 6th round) and is an NFL backup for 10 years. Very smart, experienced QB who makes the right reads/throws.

As for Oregon, yeah that's one of those bad matchups for this team. IU does have decent team speed. But Oregon is a track team.

The rankings are really, really close though when you look at the raw point totals.  It wouldn't take much for them to jump those 4 spots.

I looked at the old BCS computers.  One of them has a site that averages out basically every college football computer ranking known to man (some I'm sure that are more geared towards resume, and some that are geared towards who is projected to be the best going forward).  Here's the top 10 of that composite ranking

1.  Oregon, 2.  Ohio State, 3. Penn State, 4. Miami, 5. Texas, 6. Georgia, 7.  Notre Dame, 8. Alabama.  9.  Indiana, 10. BYU

Well, right now we are on a pace to be in the college football playoff so it is quite possible we get the chance to see how we matchup with some of the teams in front of us.

This entire season feels like a fever dream. I've been at the FIU, UCLA, Maryland, Nebraska and Washington games, and I'll be at the Michigan game in two weeks.

Indiana, Oregon and Penn State are all undefeated. They also don’t play each other. It won’t happen but it’s possible that an undefeated team might not even play for its conference championship.

Great sport we have here.

The same thing is happening in the ACC. Clemson, Miami, Pitt and SMU are all unbeaten in conference games. Miami plays none of the other 3. SMU and Clemson only play Pitt.

This reads like a scouting report for 90% of the Big Ten QBs who've come out over the last 20 years.

OSU is going to take down PSU it looks like.

PSU's best win just lost to Minnesota at home, in a related story

I was out of the house all day and just (at 6:30) sat down to watch it off the DVR. I pulled it up on YouTube TV and instead of starting at the beginning, YTTV decided to jump to the post-game interviews, so guess that saved me 3 hours

Illinois badly needs their bye week. Their secondary is struggling hard thanks to some injuries (and not being very good to begin with).

There's going to be 5 undefeated teams left at the end of the night.

Going back to the preseason poll, 42 teams received votes.  3 of the 5 undefeated teams did not receive any votes in that poll (the other 2 were #3 and #19).  That's pretty crazy.

If BYU wins the Big 12 it'll be a one bid league. It might be anyway.

Louisville pantsing Clemson was interesting.

SMU seems like the clear class of the ACC, and that conference might also get one bid.

Also, IU is probably gonna be the most popular November undefeated team in recent history over the next 2 weeks (unless they lose next week that is)
