I got the antennas but haven't installed them everywhere yet. I get in bed to catch what's left of the game on TNT and it says it's blacked out. WTF? National televised blackouts now? Between that and the losses, they don't seem to be inspiring much goodwill these days.

I don't think its that uncommon for national tv broadcasts that are also broadcast on the local network to be blacked out.  But in the past most of the market has had access to that local channel (yes I know I can pay $30/month to have access to watch the worst team in hockey or switch my cable provider to one of the few streaming companies that offers the channel).  They just look very incompetent when they tell everyone it won't be blacked out on TNT and then mid-game they black out TNT.

interesting that they promoted AHL coach Sorensen to be the interim. His job was to develop all those kids in Rockford. Does this indicate there will be callups?

This was expected, but Bedard breaking his stick out of frustration last night sure seemed like the final straw. Luke is by all accounts a tremendous guy and I hope he finds success in his next head coach job.

The list of potential next head coaches is so incredibly uninspiring. A bunch of guys who have failed in other spots or have never been NHL head coaches. The timing of this really sucks, since Richardson didn’t have a chance for two years and now barely got two months with a rag tag group of middle to lower 6 forwards and nobody capable of being a top liner aside from Bedard. This team gives up so many empty betters partially because they have so little offensive firepower, there’s nothing for opposing teams to be afraid of when protecting a 1 or 2 goal lead. Had they pulled the trigger earlier they could have gotten Jim Montgomery. But they felt the need to wait for a 6 game losing streak. 
This seems to me to be a situation where untested Sorensen gets this year and next and then they have to find a new guy for 26/27 season.

No. Bedard is fine. He's understandably frustrated. He'll work out of it.

5 unanswered goals against in the third is not good. 3 more of your own is nice. Bedard with 1 goal and 2 assists is promising. Bertuzzi and Hall being helpful…, helps.

Last night was one of the more encouraging outings of the season. Scored goals, Bedard was one of the best players on the ice, lost because goaltending was terrible.

Three wins in a row for first time since February ‘23. Mikheyev scores two more, Teuvo with two more assists, Nolan Allan with his first NHL goal. 7 guys missed empty netter opportunities 

So many chances in the first

Do you think they can/will be playoff caliber next year? Any big name free agents they could lure here this coming offseason?

The athletic has run a couple what will future roster look like articles and they have included one big free agent signing. They also discuss who that could potentially be.

That's 5 games in a row where the Hawks resembled an actual hockey team. Dug a hole too big today, but fought back, and encouraging to see Bedard being one of the best players on the ice today.
