I’m glad the Knicks won so I don’t have to get irrationally angry at the league for not retroactively assessing Wemby a flagrant for the landing spot foul on Brunson. Because there’s no way they suspend him for Game 6 even if he 100% should have been.

different game, but this play was crazy, imagine if he connected

IDK what it was like prior to this playoff but I feel like his rep among players took a major hit. They'll chalk it up to inexperience but if he keeps it up moving forward nobody will cut him slack.

He better go hard AF in the weight room this offseason, for several reasons.

As someone who identifies with the “long suffering fan” moniker, I’m happy for Knicks fans.

After those finals, Knicks fans can go pound sand.

I found myself liking the Knicks team, especially Brunson, but goddamn the Knicks fans made me sorry they won. Holy horsefeathers, they’re animals.

Also teams are only going to go after him more if they think they can get him to react and get tossed.

I learned this morning that Jalen Brunson went to HS in the Chicago Suburbs.

Illini fans of a certain vintage are certainly aware given John Groce’s utter inability to land an impact point guard.  (Brunson’s then gf, now wife went to Illinois and the recruiting came down to Illinois and Nova.)

the bears winning the super bowl is the next "last" american sports story

(sorry to the bills, lions, browns, and vikings but you just don't matter that much)

They've changed their name so it loses a little luster, but the Cleveland MLB franchise would be very significant.

As a side note, a nice secondary effect of NIL in the NCAA is that following recruiting has gotten a lot less creepy. I’d rather hear about schools ponying up 85 bazillion dollars for kids’ services than who their girlfriends are or what their mom does for a living.

The Heat gave up their last 3 first round picks plus 3 future first round picks and Tyler Herro for Giannis and Bobby Portis. That seems excessive to me for someone on the wrong side of 30.

I've seen reaction all over the place on this deal.  I think Milwaukee made out pretty well; the Giannis thing has run its course.  They won a championship, which is awesome for them, but haven't done anything since then and Giannis keeps getting hurt.  This trade is basically a fresh start.  Being a Bulls fan, I was hoping it would go terribly and continue to be drawn out, but they moved on pretty cleanly I think.

Ryen Russillo especially trashed the deal from MKE's perspective.  I think Giannis is going to like living in Miami but I don't see them as a contender unless they are able to add some serious talent, particularly some shooting.

bucks did as good as they could. its hard to move a max guy, let alone a top 5 max guy, because you might realistically only have 2-3 teams who make any sense as a trade partner anyway, and that's not even considering how hard it is to trade a salary like that.

miami still looks like a 7-10 seed to me, and that's ignoring Giannis' calf that keeps barking. From the heat's perspective, you can either be middling with giannis or be middling without him, so you might as well sell a bunch of jerseys. Him and Bam are kinda roughly on the same career timeline, so if giannis blows an achilles or whatever, I guess you just move bam for a pick or 2 and then go full-tank (as full-tank as you can in the new cba)

anyway i guess my take is that the bucks did probably as good as they could, and miami was fake anyway. the most interesting thing from the trade is learning in real-time that star salaries have gotten so bonkers that its much more valuable to trade a mid-level star like desmond bane or mikal bridges than giannis, because you have to eat 50 cents on the dollar to move a future $60m guy
