Watch the Marlins and Astros breaking out of their season long funks at Wrigley.  Couldn't have waited another week.

Sadly Imanaga's first ERs in the MLB and the Cubs trail.

Morel has been having some really lazy AB’s, Cooper looks like he’s swinging a weighted bat…

For all the talk about wanting to give guys an entire game off instead of PH in one of the DH games, Morel's really one of the guys to play both games? Dude needs a day off badly.

Here comes TT with "well actually here's the exact reason why he had to play both games" explained with irrefutable evidence to the point where you feel stupid for ever deciding to comment on the game of baseball.

(Love you TT)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you want to think of it in terms of math, with Happ's injury and the burden of catching(plus not having a big bat C), you've basically got 2 bench spots per game.  Game 1 it went to one of the every game starters(Bellinger) and a platoonable lefty(Busch).  Game 2 it went to one of the every game starters(Swanson) and a platoonable righty(Wisdom).  I wouldn't have minded Wisdom at 3B tonight given how well he swung it in Game 1, but I don't know what risks his body might have coming off injury(recognizing Morel may not be 100% either).

Why do Chicago teams love to get through tough portions of schedules and then sucks vs horsefeathers teams?

It feels like this always happens.

If Shota has a Hendricks type leash tonight, he should be pitching the 7th.

He’s already over 90 pitches, maybe he starts the 7th and then hands it over to the Marlins, I mean the bullpen should he get into trouble.

pretty ****** job from the guy that is supposed to specialize in winning one run games.

Easier to win 1-run games coming from a team with a boss bullpen.

Jed has put most of the payroll into position guys, has gone discount shopping on SP, and doesn't want to spend much on the pen because of "randomness".  I get it, player-for-dollar wise it probably makes the most sense, SP get hurt all the time so spending lots there over the bats doesn't make as much sense, but this is just how it's going to be until we develop our own pitching and relief arms or lady luck is on our side again with the pen JAGs.
