Little -> Brown makes a ton of sense.  Little takes care of Blackmon and Jones (and maybe McMahon) the first time through, and then Brown can go ~15 batters while only having to face them once.

Obviously going 2-1 against the Rockies after winning the first two would suck.  But sweeps are hard, even against sh!tty teams.  And the Cubs were most likely not gonna win the Texas series.  So 3-3 after the first six games was probably the most realistic outcome.  Hopefully they get the sweep tomorrow, but 3-3 would be an okay start.

I know either way he's going one inning to matchup with Blackmon/Jones, but what's the logic for letting Little pitch the 9th in a decided game if that's the plan

I see what you're saying, but given he only threw 12 pitches, it's really no different than making a relief appearance two days in a row. Every reliever on the team should be able to do that. It's not a day game after a night game, and Thursday is a day off.

Now he's warm, has a little bit of confidence?

Craig before the game implied it would be Brown.  My guess is the only reason he didn't confirm is Brown might have given them length tonight if Assad got knocked out early

It was nice that Assad had a longish start and that lead keeps the pen rested.  Imanaga same, plus the off day Thurs, so we're in great shape for tomorrow.
