Joe Burrow is done for the season.

The bills have to be kicking themselves. Two top AFC Qbs are out of the picture and Mahomes is playing like a human, but they can’t get out of their own way.

What? Why? Nobody under .500, a legit Super Bowl contender at the top. Watson and Burrow are out but it’s 4 decent+ teams.

Browns and Bengals are doing nothing without Burrow/Watson. Do you really believe in the Steelers?

In the course of a couple of days it went from an intriguing division to a runaway for Baltimore

I didn't even check the Carolina score until the 4th quarter. I see Bryce Young was under 5 yards per attempt again. Three games in a row and 5 times this season. Been over 6.0 twice in 9 games.

Probably top to bottom the best division in the NFL and that is with those QBs out.

As bad as it is the Panthers have to get some weapons around him before any declarations can be made.  He looks terrible obviously.  I don't know if they can assemble a supporting cast in time, before he's beyond recovering from a confidence / habits perspective.

I feel bad passing judgment on him when it's not his fault the entire franchise is a train wreck. But if he were ever going to be special - 'this justifies selling your farm to pick him #1' special - there'd be some evidence of it by now, even considering the circumstances. The last QB who started this bad who eventually became a star was...Troy Aikman? Maybe? And the NFL in 1989 was essentially a different sport than the one of 2023.

Bryce Young currently has a better completion percentage, QB rating, TD to INT ratio and a lower interception percentage than Josh Allen did as a rookie.

Josh Allen also had an elite arm and wasn't closer to being size appropriate for a jockey than a NFL QB.

That’s totally fair. I was just comparing the stats since Andy just mentioned another QB who was awful as a rookie but still become a star. More goes into it than just stats though

Allen also had a sub 60% completion percentage in college so when he was at 52.8% as a rookie, there was a lot of bust talk with him.

Josh Allen had four games as a rookie where he averaged more YPA than Bryce Young has in any game. He averaged more YPA his rookie year than Young has had in any game but one. Young's completion percentage is high because he doesn't throw the damn thing more than 7 yards down the field.

You can learn your way to cutting down on interceptions. You can't do much of anything about being completely unable to move the ball at all.

To be clear, I really want to be wrong, and not just because I'm a Carolina fan. I spent half last season openly man-crushing on Bryce Young and wanted him in the draft. He was a fun as hell college player and I want him to be a fun as hell NFL player.
