I didn't watch Illinois v. Nebraska, but I did see Tominaga went 2 for 9 on 3-point shots. Please tell me it was as cringe as I assume. He's the definition of a chucker, and I hate how much success he has hitting contested shots.

He missed some good looks.  There weren't a lot of bad forced shots that I recall.  Illinois just got a bit lucky that he wasn't on his game today, and that Rienk Mast came back to reality after his hot start.

With their 3 seed more or less locked, I wonder if they have a shot at a 2 if they beat wisky tomorrow.

I don't think there's any shot at a 2.  They needed to beat Purdue last week to have a realistic chance at that.

Terrence Shannon Jr. played some amazing defense on him, on his way to scoring 40 himself.

Probably right since they lost the head to head vs Marquette and Arizona and I doubt Tennessee's loss moves them down far enough. Also Iowa State just took out Houston so they might even sneak into a 1 now.

I hope the Illini crush Wisconsin tomorrow. Lots of Badger fans that I know who are doing a lot of talking right now.

Illinois played some of their patented lazy ass defense in the first half and allowed 51 points.  They played much, much better and with a lot more intensity in the 2nd half and just blew their doors off to the tune of a 58-36 advantage.  If they play with energy and intensity on defense, they can beat anybody but it's just a guess as to whether or not they show up with the right attitude game to game.  It's an incredibly talented team that is probably a legit point guard from being the best team in college hoops right now.

In the same vein Guerrier is an enigma, strings together games where he flashes NBA potential, followed by a string of games where he disappears and Underwood effectively benches him.  If comes to play, the Illini are very tough to beat.

Go Illini!!!!

Yes!!! The Ilini took Wisconsin' best shot, in fact Wisconsin played out their minds well, the difference is Shannon.  He can take over a game, Badgers don't have any such player.

Too bad for the CBS broadcasting crew they were rooting hard for Nebraska and Wisconsin.

Illinois gets an easy road to sweet 16, but they have the strongest #1 and #2.

Just want to see them and Underwood get to the second horsefeathers weekend for once.

I have no idea how that is possible.

Statistically it's not true, I don't what the horsefeathers the selection committee bases their choices upon.

None of it makes any sense really.  You have a team in Iowa St. That most experts had as a borderline #1 seed, if not a 1, and they get put in the same region as the #1 overall seed?

In fact they were the lowest rated 2 seed according to the committee.
