The play in has been an amazing idea for the league.  It has less to do with the play in games itself than the impact on the regular season.

Now there is a race for the 6 seed that was never there before.  There is a difference between 7 and 8.  And then there are teams at 9/10 who haven't packed it in and sometimes a 11th seed that is chasing a play in spot.  With all those extra teams playing for something, there is a huge difference in the competition level the last couple weeks of the season.

I'll admit that I enjoyed watching last night's game and the Raptors win last year but overall it hasn't really changed my excitement or interest in the last 2 Bulls seasons.  At the end of the day they're the 9th or 10th best team in the east and playing for the right to be demolished by the Celtics.  Having success in the play-in round will continue to enable AKME to justify their lack of direction for the franchise.

But for 2 hours last night, I was able to just enjoy Bulls basketball which is something I rarely do these days as I usually only watch fragments of games if at all and my view of anything Bulls related is shrouded by a black cloud of negativity due to the overall state of the franchise.

I don't think there should be a play-in round but since there is, I'll go with the flow.

Its hilarious that the Bulls apparently flew out a bunch of execs to Miami to attend the game.  Kind of pathetic that they would view an 8th place play-in game with that type of importance, but even funnier that they are watching their team get beat down.

Bulls are always there to remind you that they are a pointless aimless franchise nowhere close to being relevant.

This is why I long ago stopped watching games or putting too much emotional energy into the franchise. They are so lost it would take a miracle to become relevant again.

I have not watched a Bulls game in years it seems. I turned it on and saw like 5 straight possessions where they had a guard defending Kevin Love. I know he has gray hair now, but that seems suboptimal.

It's not surprising they lost tonight, kind of thought they would.  I'm glad, I'd much rather watch the Heat get smoked by the Celtics than the Bulls.

First time watching live this season and the first half reminded me what a colossal disaster trading for Vucevic was. Not that the Bulls have done much to earn good fortune but it's quite a thing that he immediately became a godawful 3 point shooter when he got to Chicago.

Who knows what would have happened with a full roster. They were in first place in the East when Lonzo went down. Coby & PWill improved since then and they added Ayo too.

I’m not “shilling for the franchise” one bit. I don’t like Vooch at all. That was a horrible trade. But with everyone at full strength it wouldn’t shock me to see them hosting a first round playoff series. Of course they’ve wasted 2+ years already and don’t seem to have a viable way to get to a championship contender anytime in the near future even if Lonzo comes back 100%.

Lonzo will not come back 100%, it is far more likely he never plays another minute in the NBA than he comes back and is remotely productive. The Bulls should've looked at him that way each of the last 2 offseasons and acted accordingly.

Not disagreeing with any of this.

I keep seeing the rumor the Bulls are offering Derozan 2 years at almost 40M a year. It's pretty incredible to see them keep doubling down on their stupidity.

Saw a piece about Karnisovas vowing to make changes, admitting DeRozan, Lavine and Vucevic hasn't worked.  Honestly, I thought they'd play the injuries card right off the bat.

might be wrong, might be right. The Bulls were an awful franchise before Jordan and are an awful franchise after he left. If only they luck into one of the 5 greatest players of all time, they will be good again.

Well we had a pretty damn good squad after Jordan but DRose’s inability to stay on the court prevented that team from ever reaching its potential.
