Bulls falling back to reality without Vooch. Will be interesting to see how Coby plays when Zach comes back which could be was early as tomorrow.

22/6/10 on 12 shots for Coby. Not bad. I like that nobody had more than 12 shots and 5 guys had between 9-12. 29 assists on 40 made baskets. Need to keep sharing the ball, playing defense, and getting transition buckets (25-10 fast break)

Zach passed up some open shots to facilitate. He wasn’t playing the usual one-on-one Zach basketball. Too bad it took him being injured to realize that. I partially blame Donovan for not forcing more ball movement these last few years.

Booing Jerry Krause with his widow representing him at the halftime ring of honor ceremony was a terrible look for Bulls fans

I would like to think that at this point any booing of Krause is mostly tongue in cheek, but regardless it is ridiculous to put that on his family.  It is, and always has been, so incredibly mean-spirited.  If Krause looked and spoke like Theo Epstein, he would be beloved.

Hopefully this causes people to reconsider the role Krause played in the dynasty.  He had his flaws but they don't win 6 titles without several of the moves he made.  Jordan introduced a new generation of fans to his personal hatred of Krause via The Last Dance so in some ways he bears some responsibility for what happened tonight.

I’m not too familiar with how the dynasty era ended, but listening to Rosenbloom on 670 this morning, he made the case that it was Phil who ended it. He wanted out and Jordan would only play for Phil, so Jerry broke them up. Is that true?

I think its like asking why the Beatles broke up.  There is not one definitive answer or reason.  Phil might have "left" after 98 but it was Krause told Phil it was going to be his last season coaching the Bulls even if he went 82-0 and won the title.  He already had Tim Floyd handpicked as his successor.  Reinsdorf did push back on Krause's statement and tried to retain Jackson but I think Phil was mentally coaching that season as his last with the Bulls and wasn't going to come back regardless.  It's true that Jordan repeatedly said that season that he wouldn't play for another coach so if Phil left, he would leave. Pippen was going to be a FA and looking for a huge payday plus was dealing with chronic back issues.  He was also pissed off at his previous contract and held a grudge against the organization so no guarantees he even comes back to the team.  Rodman was turning 37 and had a steep decline almost immediately following the season.  There are other reasons as well.  It wasn't just Phil and it wasn't just Krause.

Pip was at the A&M-Kentucky game in College Station with his son Justin. Wonder why he skipped the ROH festivities. Not that it’s likely related but his left arm is in a sling.

I assumed that he didn't want to talk about his feud with Jordan and his ex-wife and that's why he didn't go

Apparently Billy Donovan said Lonzo Ball no longer has any pain in his knee and will resume running activity. Obviously he won’t be back this season but maybe we will finally see him return in 24-25.

Bulls are 16-9 over their last 25 games

Entirely without Ball. Mostly without LaVine. Partially without Vuc and Craig.
