What would make it a route you wish the Cubs would take? I personally have a really hard time seeing Trout not far surpassing those ZiPS. No way do I see him as a 110 hitter in 5 years. Maybe I'm blind but I think he's safely a 140-150 hitter over the next 5, but how much he plays is the hang-up. Would you trade PCA, Alcantara, or Shaw for him if he comes with $7/150?

A part of me is convinced that the Angels are nothing more than the West Coast Mets and that if you get Trout out of there, he’ll play 145 games each of the next four years.

Probably not far off the mark.

I think Philly has an in with Trout for obvious reasons but if the Cubs have any chance at all, they should make that call and try to land him.
