Cubs score 3 on a walk, a perfectly placed ground ball (good piece of hitting though), 3 more walks, and a misplayed double play grounder

take what we can get

That change up is an 80 grade pitch honestly this kid has a chance to be special

The question is what his ceiling is. I think special is a reach. He hasn’t ever really been special. He’s always been just good throughout the minors. I think his upside is a solid #2 and maybe more likely a good #3. That’s not a criticism. If that is what he is, it’s an absolute A+ job by the Cubs. It’s a win for Jordan and the organization. He’s been absolutely incredible since the first couple of batters, but we have to remember this Pirates lineup is trash.

If that's what he evolves into,  getting a playoff-caliber #3 in the middle of the 1st round is a major victory,  every time.

He will have to turn his cutter into a plus pitch IMO. That will be what will turn him from good to great..that’ll give him 2 put away pitches that he can use against both LHP and RHP
