When you only need one run, you're more likely to get it, especially with a good contact hitter waiting behind Wisdom that will be hitting against a drawn in infield.  There's risk that he doesn't actually get it down so it's not automatic, but it was a great bunt that validated he can handle the bat in such a situation.

With the infield in though?  Feel like that reduces the chances of getting that run home.  You would know better than me I guess

Think of it this way, the infield isn't in all the time because a lot more stuff is getting through thanks to reduced range/reaction time.  If Mancini hits the ball 3 feet to the left or right with the infield back nobody blinks, he does so in that at bat the game is over.

Less time for the infielders to react and keep the ball on the infield though too.

But I’m assuming that there is a reason teams bring the IF in for those situations, because it’s strategically advantageous.  Of course sports and especially baseball are full of examples of teams doing things strategically that hurt them lol.

If you keep the infield back you risk not actually throwing the runner out when you field it.  The 'advantage' is limiting that downside, but until the ball is in somebody's glove it is much more likely a groundball gets through and ends the game.

With the Cubs relative inability to hit with RISP, if the Marlins don’t plan on scoring this could go on for quite some time.

Manfred man is so awesome. Sac bunt and a pop fly and the Marlins are winning

Angels broadcaster Wayne Randazzo had a nice rant a few weeks ago both before and after the Angels lost in a similar situation.

How many horsefeathering left handed pitchers do they have in the pen?  Every inning another one comes in the game.

The Marlins thing with their whole roster build seems to be 'zag where everyone else zigs, even if there's no logical reason for it'

Ok I just counted it looks like they have 6 left handed pitchers in their pen. How can you survive with 6 lefties lol
