This Iowa team is very good and prospecty.  And Iowa hasn't even been kind of good at any point since approximately Schwarber's first call up.  It's so refreshing and I hope the quality young depth provides a good number of MLB wins this year.

I can't speak on specifics (and I don't know all the details), but I believe Leeper may have had a significant injury.

Well dammit.  Thanks for the heads up.

A couple immediate reactions to that roster:

- Is Birdsell hurt, or do we think he's at SB?

- Is Ismael Mena hurt?  If not close the book on him ever becoming a thing I guess

- I know Michael Arias throws fire, are any of the other IFA pitchers worth tracking?

Birdsell is stretched out and with the SB group, per Arizona Phil.

Mena can’t hit to get out of Arizona, also per Phil.

AZPhil's list of stretched out pitchers for SB is Birdsell/Hodge/Little/Gallardo/Connor Noland/Adam Laskey/Adam Thoreson.  Kohl Franklin is listed as on the roster but isn't stretched out.

No Porter Hodge at SB means he's either Tennesee bound or on the IL.  He just pitched down in AZ so here's hoping it's the former.

Threw 60 pitches yesterday so he should be on track to go to an affiliate. Arizona Phil did call his appearance a SB tuneup.

Put your shocked face on for Gallardo being the youngest pitcher on SB’s OD roster by more than a year. Made, Alcantara, and Pinango among the position players, Hearn a year younger than the other catchers

No Howard with the low minors affiliates and the rumor was he’d be assigned out of ST…

Howard is still rehabbing and staying back in Arizona.

Probably nothing, but McGeary being listed as a catcher catches my eye.

Will be interesting since 4 catchers on one roster is excessive and Hearn and Opitz are thought of highly defensively.

Confirmed that it’s TJS (his third):

Oh man didn't realize it was his third.  Huge bummer.  Is there anybody who's had a notable career after 3?  Daniel Hudson might have had 3?

On the other hand the Hodge news is great though.  Probably the most aggressive assignment anybody received this spring.  Hope he shows out.

José Rijo had 5!? Sounds like only Venters made it back to the bigs after his 3rd.

Ooof, that list is bleak.  Hopefully Leeper's the exception

This may be a bit hot-takey, but if Horton isn't in our top 3 pitching prospects (4 if you include Wesneski) we should have drafted someone else.
