I haven't seen any injury reports this spring other than updates on Canario and Howard. I don't think it's possible that all the pitchers showed up healthy and ready to go. Has anyone heard any updates in this area?

I had a contrast dye MRI on my heart last Friday. I haven't gotten the results back yet so I don't know if I will need a stint or a restricted diet. Maybe both. The worst case is they have to crack open my chest.

Minor league ST games started yesterday, so my guess is we'll get news on that front soon since it'll be more obvious who's not taking the field.

Credit to Tom, but he linked an article from the Tribune regarding Canario's progress. Bottom line is, don't expect him back until after the All Star Game at the earliest.

Wasn't that a concern when they drafted him?

I mean, it's a concern with every pitcher, especially hard-throwing ones. I don't remember hearing anything specific about his motion that was a concern, though.

He had to be shut down from pitching his senior season due to arm problems.

I posted this in another thread but it seems more fitting here.

Luis Devers is the biggest name: https://www.thecubreporter.com/comment/274608#comment-274608

The following Cubs minor leaguers are presently in the Medical Rehab Group (limited activity - playing catch only) at Minor League Camp:

Garrett Brown, RHP (2022 draft pick)

Luis Devers, RHP

Joandy Duran, RHP (DSL in 2022)

Manuel Espinoza, RHP

Stephen Gonsalves, LHP (signed successor contract)

Jordan Holloway, RHP

Scott Kobos, LHP

Brailyn Marquez, LHP (re-signed after being non-tendered)

Shane Marshall, RHP (2022 draft pick)

Ezequiel Pagan, OF

Jack Patterson, LHP

Kenyi Perez, RHP

Tyler Schlaffer, RHP

JP Wheat, RHP (2022 draft pick)

Brad Wieck, LHP

Also, RHP Will Frisch (pre-draft TJS in 2022) and LHP Wilson Cunningham (on Spring Break from U. of Chicago) threw "live" BP on Field # 3 yesterday (Friday).

Him having TJS isn't surprising at all, and I assume the Cubs knew that was a very likely possibility when they drafted him. He is years away from the upper minors anyway, so hopefully he gets this out of the way now and it doesn't hinder his development too much.

It would have been nice to see Mule in games before he went under the knife, but yeah, the chances were extremely high that he would need TJS at some point early on. Prep arms reaching 100 mph have not done well in avoiding TJS.

how many times do we have to learn our lesson, the injury update thread will still come for us even if we try to play semantic games with the thread title

I was going to call Tim a jinx, but you said it better.
