I really dislike that teams are able to push the QB forward now.

I agree

Yeah, the virtually unstoppable 1 yard sneak is kind of annoying.

That last one I feel an argument could be made that forward progress was stopped, and then they pushed him.

worst call in the history of the nfl

Ahem. Hi there.

Not even close. That said, the NFL continues to have an officiating problem. With gambling becoming prevalent, this is only going to become a bigger issue.

Not an awful call. Iffy call, sure. Not awful.
Given the situation, it was awful. If you make that call in the 2nd quarter of a Bears/Lions regular season game, it wouldn't be a huge deal, but deciding an extremely well played Super Bowl on a ticky-tack touch foul is inexcusable.

I would have gotten pissed off if that were against my team in the 2nd quarter in week 6. In that situation it’s inexcusable.

Nah. If you're going to call it in the second quarter you call it in the 4th quarter too. I hate the "let them play at the end" BS. A penalty is a penalty regardless of when it happens.

If they didn't call it, I don't think I would care either. But I also don't really care that they did call it. If you're going to grab a receiver twice, you run the risk of it being called.

But if that's a penalty, then so is almost every other play. So they actually did the exact opposite of "let them play at the end."

It was definitely a penalty. I don't know if it is consistent with how the called the game, but he definitely held the guy. Twice.

I thought there was a rather innocuous hold during the first contact, but the second instance just looked like a hand on the back. By the letter of the rules, it was probably a hold, but if you aren't going to call it on every play, don't call it on the most important play of the game.

Seemed like an easy call to me. The reciever that the QB was looking at tries to make a sharp turn and gets his jersey tugged as he tries to change directions. That's gonna get called more often than not.

I can’t say it wasn’t a penalty but I can say that type of contact is often not called. I’d wager you could go back play-by-play in this game and find similar contact, uncalled.

It's like in hockey, you may see hooks all game, but they'll call it when you hook the guy who has the puck as he's trying to get a shot off.

It wasn't just the jersey tug, it was where and when it happened

Just watched it again this morning thinking I’d reconsider.

I still horsefeathering hate that call.
