Sounds like Fields is trending towards playing....

I'm so torn. I would love nothing more than Fields to singlehandedly beat GB this week, and my fantasy team needs a win in 1 of my money leagues. But the defense couldn't stop this same bad GB offense earlier in the season, and they had Quinn, Roquan, and Jackson then. So, they're going to lose anyway and now I have to actually care if Fields plays.

I'm sticking with my earlier position. I think my favorite scenario is that Fields leads the Bears on a late (would be) game-winning drive, only to allow a TD return on the ensuing kickoff.

Fields shuts people up by showing he "knows how to win", but we still solidify the draft status.

Selfishly for my fantasy team I'd like him to play. Superflex league and my other QB (Kyler) is on a bye leaving me with Heinicke and no one for the superflex spot. I've already clinched the playoffs but the top scoring regular season team gets 20% of the pot and I'm currently 87 points ahead of the 2nd place team. Should be good unless I have 2 stinkers the last 2 weeks (which is a possibility with no Kyler this week and no Fields next week).

Fantasy aside, my first priority is always going to be whats best for Fields and the Bears. I tentatively trust the FO/coaching staff that if he plays he's not at risk of reinjury and is healthy enough to go. If that's not the case, its a perfect time to rest one more week and then get the bye before coming back for the final four games.

I still want the Bears to win solely because its the Packers, but that is not a bad outcome at all. Put the fear of god into Packers fans and let them worry about the next decade.

What'll probably happen is Fields will play, he'll play well, Bears will score some points, but Rodgers will have a great game, Packers will win by 25+. Aferwards that horsefeathering [expletive] will laugh and belittle the Bears, kick them when their down, he'll do this because it's his last time he'll have the opportunity to do so.

Honestly...that's fine with me, too. I can turn it off at halftime and miss the smugness.

I'm suspending my rational faculties and going full meatball for the last time this season. If Fields wants to play and is going to play, lets horsefeathers all over the Packers and end Rodgers's tenure with a messy defeat.

I can accept it. Put aside high hopes of that top 3 pick. Maybe they still lose every game 40-28, but we may just squeak out a win or 2 or spoil that top 3 pick.

Somehow getting to 6 wins would likely be where it hurts. Looking at likely outcomes, 5 wins to 6 is where it probably goes from like 5th/6th pick to falling outside the top 10 altogether.

Heading into that last Minny game, Poles can't be too prideful to seal what may be left of the tank in what's certain to be meaningless for both teams. It could be an exact replica of the Eagles situation a few years ago.

Will be interesting to see if the playbook is modified at all. I'm more than okay cutting Fields designed runs in half. Lean heavy on RB and play action and screens and get out of this season with some development and health intact.

I'd be happy if they instituted a 3-5 drop back passing attack and threw 50 times. practice the short passes, keep the DL at bay, and if you win you win.

Justin practiced in full again today and does NOT have an injury designation on the injury report. Sounds like QB1 is back.

Yeah, he's playing. Flus all but said so. The whole, "he's trending towards and if no setbacks" stuff.

Trevor Siemien apparently is having oblique surgery and is out for the season. Peterman is QB2 this week. Tim Boyle is QB3 this week.

Green Bay is still bad against the run and particularly against the QB run. Honestly, the Bears should have the similar approach that they did last game (GB should as well, TBF). I'm actually mostly fine with Fields running, as long as he doesn't get hit. Most of the scrambles, he doesn't take hits. It's the designed off tackle QB runs that are the most dangerous. I'd love to see them drop back as well, but that also scares me. Go to Claypool deep early and often.

Maybe I'll eat these words, but even with Fields, i'm not particularly worried about this Bears team getting too many wins down the stretch.

To date, they've underperformed their expected W-L by a game or two. Luckily (or not) this team is now dramatically different than even a week ago. But Fields may be enough to play them into stealing a win they have no business in and reverting to the mean.

And that likely meaniningless Minny game week 18 scares me the most.

there is an alternate reality where the Iggles lose another game (somehow) and suddenly that last week the Vikings are fighting for 1st pace. I dont think its a far fetched idea either, Philly will play the Giants twice and the Cowboys once with two of those games being away.

That's if Minny doesn't drop one too. They're a .500 team masquerading as a two seed. If they really horsefeathers down their leg, maybe they're still fighting for the two seed.

Eagles will lose 1 more game. Vikings will lose again too (even though schedule isn't difficult). Week 18 will be meaningless and the Bears will win.

Philly would have to lose twice, right? Doesn’t Philly hold a h2h tiebreaker?

for the Vikings to get the #1, yes, but if they are 14-2 heading into that last week and so is Philly, the Vikings arent going to sit anyone meaning the bears could lose that game - which is what we are worried wont happen.

eta: it also depends on the flex scheduling, those games are TBD right now.

Watch it be us that gives the Eagles that loss
