Please show me that horsefeathers Portnoy in the crowd. This is all I dreamed of.

(Don’t blow this, Miami)

Will Bill Simmons do?

Game 1 Nuggets-Heat tonight, while it appears to be a mismatch guess we shouldn't count the Heat out.  Still, besides playing well, when one sits back at looks at the extraordinary chain of events that helped get the Heat to Finals.  One has to wonder if their luck has run out, besides the mismatches all over the floor, I just don't see the Nuggets checking out for the half of the series nor will they let Strus, Martin, Robinson and Vincent beat them or be so badly out-coached.  If I were a Celtics fan I'd be PO that they sat back and let Caleb Martin and Gabe Vincent beat them, it was entirely preventable.

Am I missing something obvious, or why wouldn't it be Bam that is put on Jokic defensively?

I know this is like a week old but I just saw this.

I don’t think there’s any question Bam will be the primarily defender on Jokić. The question is can he be effective? AD is bigger and has a bigger wingspan than Bam and Jokić didn’t have any issues.

The Heat are small up front and Denver is really good against the zone. This is going to be really tough for them, especially with 4 in Denver.

Heat bounced back to win Game 2 after looking woefully outmatched in Game 1.

7th game this postseason they’ve made 14+ 3’s while shooting at least 45% from 3. Unsurprisingly they’re 6-1 in those games.

lol

(I still think Nuggets in 6)

Jokic also put up a 30p, 20r, 10a game which is the 5th in playoff history. He’s got 3 now. Wilt and Kareem did it once each.

Jokic with a soft 5th foul with the Nuggets up 10 with 9 minutes left. The crew chief tonight? None other than The Extender himself, Scott Foster.

Even Scott Foster can't stop the team of destiny, apparently.

Did the clock finally strike midnight on the Heat last night?  Because straight up basketball they've no chance, in a long playoff season, the pixie dust can enable a team like the Heat to go far.  However, at some point, the pixie dust goes dry and it comes down to ability and who has the better players.

Yeah even if they win Game 5, I just cant see them going back to the Denver altitude and winning games 6 and 7.  But they've been defying expectations all playoffs so we'll see.

The Finals haven’t been a 2-3-2 format for a while now. Game 5 is in Denver.

EDIT: Looks like 2013 was the last one under that format. David Silver changed it back to 2-2-1-1-1.

Damn, I kind of liked 2-3-2

They basically have to go nuts from 3 to have a chance of winning. 3 of the 4 wins over Boston they were 50% and in Game 2 over Denver they were at 48.6%. Games 1, 3 and 4 they were between 31% and 33%.

It really helped the Heat that Game 2 had an extra day off in Denver altitude to help acclimate, something the Timberwolves, Suns and Lakers didn't have.

This one is over. They don't have an answer for all three of Joker, Murray AND Gordon.

Lol at the refs. Butler goes up for a 3, clearly kicks his leg forward, hits Gordon in the nuts and Gordon gets called for a foul. They review it and uphold the call claiming it was Butler’s natural motion. Gordon didn’t even go through the leg either. He was standing there and Butler felt the contact and went down.

LOL at the Jokic reaction to winning. No emotion whatsoever. Shakes hands with the Heat players. Claps at the crowd. Just perfectly fitting for him.

"The job is done, we can go home now," was perfect.

(That is also me after replying to one email at work.)

Really love this new era of more organic championship teams and overall parity. After getting Warriors/Cavs for literally 4 years straight we’ve gotten 8 different teams over the last 5 Finals, only repeats have been the Warriors and Heat x2
