Panthers fire Matt Rhule. Inevitable. I loved the hire and have no problem with the guy but he just sucks at this level.

I think Nebraska will take a long look at him

Is there any penalty more impactful and arbitrary than the NFL’s DPI? I’m not sure Jaylen Watson deserved that one

Only mostly because of Tom Brady, but roughing the passer has to be it.

Who has Travis Kelce on their fantasy team?

Lowest amount of yards in a 4 TD game? 25 yards with 4 TDs is hard to do.

For receiving, he shattered the record.

If you include rushing, he still wins by a lot, as Lewis had 67 REC yards. TJ Duckett with 65 yards was the previous record holder, it looks like.

Chris Jones just got called for roughing the passer for falling on the quarterback when he had already stripped the QB and possessed the fumble, amazing

So, I think the key here is that the official didn't see the fumble. It was more of a strip that a "punch out" and it wasn't until the slow-mo that I saw the fumble. I feel like if any other official would have seen the fumble, they would have picked up the flag. And if you see the ball taken, after the fact, it's not really reviewable to the point you take away the penalty. But if they don't see that the ball was taken away, it's a correct call.....by the rule. The rule is dumb and that may have been a borderline interpretation of that rule. But it's not a terrible call, all things considered, IMO.

The ref's interview with the pool reporter claimed a fumble would not have changed his call. The ESPN rules guy(who was basically carrying water for every other call the refs made, including the soft defensive hold on the missed FG) pointed out that Jones braced his fall with his left hand(despite cradling the ball in his other arm), which should have meant no penalty regardless.

I didn't notice the brace by Jones. So I stand corrected. But yeah, that ref is wrong. The fumble should have changed his call.

Don’t know this guy other than he is a Buffalo sports anchor.

The only weakness on the Bills is lack of RB. What would it take for them to get him? 2023 1st and 2nd rounder?

McCaffrey has been pretty fragile in his career. Buyer beware. And a 1st and 2nd is really like a 2nd and 3rd based on where the Bills will finish the season.

All NFL running backs are some mixture of mutally-exclusive lucky/fragile.

Yeah, but MCaffrey is Mr Glass. He’s awesome when healthy but I don’t think the cold and the turf in Buffalo would make him any more durable. I’d say a 2nd and maybe 5th rounder.

Edit: Patterson in ATL would be a better bang for the buck for the Bills and great in that offense.

The "running backs don't matter" in me says that's asking a touch too much. The "no such thing as players made of glass" in me says that Buffalo would have pissed themselves in excitement if that was the ask.

Edit: Patterson is most certainly proof that RBs don't matter, and ironically, is currently hurt.

Add to the sellers market, there are several teams desperate for RBs right now. I think 3 guys either on practice squads or out of football entirely were signed to new teams last week.

It depends on the scheme. Maybe KC doesn’t need an elite RB, but I’d argue 75% of teams need a good to elite RB. Look at the Saints record with/without Kamara. Imagine the Titans without Henry or the Browns without Chubb. Decent RB play is the difference between a Seattle and a Minnesota.
