Such a bad loss. Not only were the Rockets on a 15 game losing streak but they lost their best player early in the game. Effort was horsefeathers for 3+ quarters.

well this pretty much kills all my good feelings from this season so far

It kind of does. Defense looks like it’s regressed a bit. The Rockets were 12-17 from 3 after midway through the third and thats a lot of look but also a lot of wide open looks allowed.

I think they’re a good team but they need to bring it every night to maintain their level of play and they just don’t look like they have the last 2 games. This stupid playin rule makes taking games off much less forgiving since the East is pretty stacked with good teams and there are only 6 guaranteed spots.

I need an official explanation on the Ball foul that took away the 3 late. Not sure what the ref thought he saw live but I REALLY don’t understand how the call was upheld upon review. Even if you can explain a foul (which I don’t think you can) it has to have been after the shot so why doesn’t the basket count? That one hurt big time.

it's more about the way they're trending. defense has been getting worse, and the offense is basically zach or ddr going iso now. the ball movement was so much better earlier in the season. pwill's defense is missed. coby is just atrocious. i was thinking 50 wins for a while. but i'm back to thinking 45-48.

That was Tony Corrente level bad. 100% agree with everything you said. 1. It's not a foul on a guy shooting a jumpshot straight up and landing straight down. 2. If you call a foul on whatever contact happened when he landed (the only contact there was), then why doesn't the shot count? Made no sense.

Upper 50s barring injuries and Williams defense is not actually good, at least not yet

Loss to the heat not bad in isolation but that’s 3 of 4 and 7-7 in last 14 games.

(sample size guy is back)

I think the Bulls have something but need to make some moves to really make it a good showing. As constructed they are a 45-50 win team I think

Can’t be upset about a close loss to a really good Miami team on the road on a back to back.

That said, Vuc needs to get going. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for now returning from Covid. But it’s not looking pretty.

Vuc has been underwhelming all season. Coby needs to find some consistency too. You can’t expect to beat any team when you turn the ball over 23 times.

It was a home game for the Bulls, which made no freaking sense. The Bulls played Friday night in Orlando, flew home and had a back-to-back in Chicago.....against another Florida team. Meanwhile, the Heat last played in Minnesota on Wednesday. They had 2 days off and had to travel from Minneapolis to Chicago. Bulls had B2B and traveled from Florida to Chicago in between. No reason that game shouldn't have been in Miami. Or the Heat should have had the B2B with the short travel.

i meant to say upper 50s.

they're currently on pace for 52 and have dealt with injuries (zach, coby, vooch's illness, throw in williams if you think that's consequential, but he's not coming back this year so that's irrelevant to the discussion), severe underperformance from vooch, and are still finding their way as a massively overhauled roster. and they've had a goofy schedule having played the most games (while dealing with the aforementioned issues) in the league and some really weird travel sequencing if you really want to dig that deep. they've been highly competitive in almost every game with only a couple of exceptions and the defense is a legitimate force and there's no reason to believe it isn't here to stay.

and they'll almost certainly add to shore up some of their weaknesses and add some size/defense/rebounding in the interior.

Every time I think the Bulls are cooling off they go out and kick someone's ass. As long as the defense shows up most nights I too think they can win 50+.

Still anxious to see what kind of moves they make to bolster the front line. Go freaking Bulls.
