Do anyone know anything about ESPN's BPI stat, other than it probably sucks because it's by ESPN?

 

It has the Bulls as the 21st best team in the NBA due to (I think) results so far this year, and has them going 26-28 the rest of the season. I'm guessing its based on plus/minus numbers that have hated the Bulls and particularly guys like DeRozan and LaVine since before the season started.

I know he's old and probably bad now but he used to be an effective big and he can still shoot. Wouldn't be shocked if he's around longer than 10 days

 

 

Oh and he's being signed because Dotson has COVID

 

Edit: I guess Mac Mc-something is being signed to replace Dotson, not sure who Illyasova is replacing...maybe Stanley Johnson, or there's another Bulls on the COVID list unreported.

Zach LaVine is out of health and safety protocols and said he feels great. The roster is mostly healthy now and we only played a few games while our best players were out. I have no idea how big an impact Billy Donovan missing a few games will have on the team. I think he's a pretty solid coach and he probably will get some Coach of the Year votes... Bulls players seem to like playing for him and he doesn't wear down players by playing them heavy minutes like Thibs.

 

I know nothing about assistant coach Chris Fleming.

13/5/5 and a 13 PER doesn't scream out all star on the surface

 

i'd say his impact is probably greater than what those numbers would indicate but i'd be more surprised if he WAS getting all star hype.

Agree. He’s not an all star. There are just too few spots and he’s going to need to put up better numbers, to go along with his ferocious defense, for anyone to take that argument seriously. Love having him, though. And he’s a huge reason the Bulls are where they are.

i'm not arguing that (even though i wouldn't even say he's an all star on merit, even though he has been a very nice addition and fit on this roster).

 

is this your first time following an all star selection process? (let alone NBA all star). how often do guys who don't put up stats get in (unless they're big name old guys getting in on their past, which also happens)?

 

i just don't see how it's remotely hard to believe that he's not getting hype.
