all games should be 7 innings

wrong. institute the pitch clock.

The 3 batter minimum will fix everything. Disregard the fact that teams are setting records for the number of pitchers used.

But to my post last night, an hour after the first pitch is was just the middle of the 2nd inning with no pitching changes yet. It’s not just the length of the game it’s the pace. I finally checked out around the 5th.

I checked the time between pitches in the top of the first in today’s game and Garcia is taking 35-40 seconds per pitch. Ridiculous

Maybe limit the number of pitchers on the postseason roster. With there never being more than 2 games in a row, managers can basically six or seven pitchers each game (and they do).

Why are the Dodgers playing a bullpen game already? What did I miss?

Scherzer and Urias went in game 5 and Buehler started game 4

Crazy

Even disregarding my woke racial sensitivity concerns, Braves fans continuing to do the Chop (and the coverage always so eager to show crowd shots of it), is super horsefeathering lame. It's right there with the Wave.

Atlanta is a shitty sports town in general.

You're being far too hard on the wave. The chop is fucked up, the wave is just lame

I don’t feel anything for the Braves generally but I can get on board them ousting the Dodgers out of the playoffs

I’ve really come to hate the Dodgers over the past few years and I hope they crawl into a hole and fail for a long time like they did when I first started coming around to watching baseball seriously

The Dodgers won 106 games in the regular season and now suddenly Dave Roberts has flipped the switch to crazy rotation/bullpen management for the playoffs. He got away with it against the Giants, but he's definitely playing with fire (and hopefully will continue to get burned).

They got spent by the Giants. It's why a seven game series is important.

They need to shorten the season by two weeks and have all playoffs series be seven games.

Laz Diaz everybody.

Oh and he missed at least two more after that (Passan tweeted an update that he was up to 23 missed calls.

Also relevant, only three umpires were worse this year at calling balls and strikes than Laz Diaz. If they're not going to give us robot umps, at least give us the best umps at calling balls and strikes. If an ump sucks at calling plays in the field, at least those can be reviewed and corrected. Balls and strikes can't.

Didn't watch the game, but I was following it on my phone. It seems like the calls on balls/strikes was truly terrible tonight, and the poor job by umps this postseason is going to lead to a greater demand for an automated strike zone...

The pitch (Eovaldi curveball) that Jeff Passan mentions in the tweet above. It looks pretty close and I initially thought it was outside, but the angle behind home plate shows that it did cross over the plate and should have been a strike:

I hate to say it but this series is proving to me I'll take a proven cheating team over the Boston Red Sox

I guess my hope right now is for an Astros-Braves WS

Just give me drama. And/or chaos. If I can't get game 7s, I want Sale to be a superspreader right before they start the World Series.
