Lakers lose at Houston to fall 9 games under .500. If they were in the East they'd be 12th, but in the West they're still 9th because the West has 8 decent teams.

Somewhat refreshing to see the west’s superiority wane.

Lakers currently in 9th, 0.5 games ahead of the Pelicans for 10th and 1.5 ahead of the Spurs for 11th, and out of the playoff picture entirely. Go Pels and Spurs.

Grizzlies are 17-2 without Ja. They just destroyed the Bucks. Desmond Bane is a badd dude.

The Suns are having one of the quietest dominant seasons that I can recall. They're 60-14, have the best odds at +350 for the title, but I feel like the hype around them is nowhere near what their level of dominance should dictate. I'd be so happy for those guys if they seal the deal this time around.

I love the Celtics at +1000. Theyve been the best team in the league in several categories in the 2nd half. They are thrashing teams left and right, ridiculous defensively. They have a well rounded team but also have 2 guys that can dominate any given night. I hate their organization and they have too many titles as it is but it would be a pretty great story if they actually add another chip coming back from, 6th?, in the conference at the ASB.

Pels play the Lakers tonight. And as an extra bonus, if the Lakers finish with one of the ten worst records in the league (currently tied for 10th worst) NO gets the pick as part of the AD trade. Go Pels indeed.

Lakers blow a 23 point lead and lose to NO.

I’m a Lakers fan and at this point even I think it would be hilarious if the missed the playoffs. The Westbrook trade was awful when it happened and it’s played out as poorly as possible. They deserve to miss the playoffs for that stupidity alone.

Woof. That Lakers schedule is brutal. Think it's going to be Pels-9th seed and Spurs-10th seed with the Lakers giving their pick to NO.

I know the Lakers won a ring and that trumps all, but the AD deal is looking better and better for the Pels.

They turned the players they acquired from LA into Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum, Jonas Valanciunas, Herb Jones, Jaxson Hayes, Devonte Graham, Larry Nance Jr. and Trey Murphy. NOLA receives this year's first-round pick if it falls in the Top 10, and have the right to swap first-round picks with the Lakers in 2023. Further, they get to pick either the 2024 or 2025 pick, depending on which one looks better. Basically, the worse the Lakers perform in the future, the better life gets for the Pels. That's not to mention Zion or the haul they got from the Bucks for Jru Holiday.

Malik Monk, Austin Reaves and Talen Horton-Tucker are the only players under 30 in the Lakers' rotation. It's going to be a difficult situation in LA.

Whether the Lakers make it or not, it is ridiculous that we're talking about teams with winning percentages in the low 40's battling for playoff spots.

Lakers lose their 5th straight game, 2nd to the Pels, and fall a game back of 10th.

Meanwhile, the top 2 articles on ESPN NBA coverage are about the Lakers "tumultuous" season and whether playing Lebron and AD to "make a run" for the playoffs is a bad move.

How low will the Lakers have to go before the articles stop being about asking when they'll flip that switch to championship contenders?

I can't wait for the inevitable "if only they were healthy all year" stories after the season ends. Nevermind that the Clippers have gotten a combined 28 games from George and Kawhi (the Lakers are at 94 games for Lebron and AD) yet they are 6.5 games better than the Lakers and are nearly locked in to the 8 seed.

Amazing feat.

I don't like Serbians and I will never root for a Serbian athlete (or their team)... That said, he's an incredible player and has a chance to finish with the highest PER (32.88) in NBA history. MJ's highest PER was 31.7 and both Giannis and Jokic will beat that mark this year.

Kevin Love put up a 30/10 in just 15 minutes. HFS.

He scored at a higher rate than Wilt did in his 100 point game.

I know that the Bucks had their reserves in but that stat line would be nuts in an All Star game when they’re not even trying on defense.

Chris Paul is 0-14 in playoff games where Scott Foster is on the referee crew.

Thats's bizarre

I saw that stat...it was later corrected to 2-16, but 14 losses in a row.
