Oh goody, is this going to be one of those handshake agreement drafts where nearly every team decides to pass on and screw over any player who is asking for overslot money?

I don’t think so. Leiter (soph) and Lawler (draft eligible again as a sophomore) have leverage. The Mets and Nats have been willing to go over slot for talent.

And we’re bound to get some weird picks with next to no season last year, no college summer leagues last year and many states starting their prep seasons very late this year. The Pirates and O’s definitely went below slot, hope the Royals did too.

Bednar would be fun, but my assumption was the crazy run he's been on the last month+ leapfrogged him right past us. I think him and Ford are the two guys I'm most hoping for. Unlikely we get either, but not totally unreasonable. Kind of like Ed Howard last year where it takes like two teams ahead of us going rogue and picking someone way down the board.

Well, that was fun hope while it lasted. The Royals did their part in helping better names slide our way though
