In all seriousness I hope he's able to continue his career. This injury sounds truly horrible.

Iowa manager Marty Pevey said following Friday's game that pitcher Jason Adam suffered an injured ankle during batting practice earlier in the day. Pevey called the injury an "open dislocation of the ankle." An ambulance was called to Principal Park and Dam was put on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital.

He had surgery, no timetable for return. I'm guessing he isn't coming back this season, truly sounds awful. Hoping he recovers.

Also guessing he goes to 60 day IL and someone else gets the 40 man spot when needed.

just got DFA'd, seems horsefeathers to do that instead of 60 day IL

I'm really hoping there is a logical non-shitty explanation for this. I guess they did pay for his surgery but horsefeathers at least pay him his meager minor league salary and let him use your rehab facilities

To follow up, I was told that if the Cubs put him on the 60 day, they would have to pay his MLB salary during an extended injury. Once he clears waivers and they outright him, they can then pay him a minor league salary and continue to let him use the Cubs rehab facilities. So only somewhat shitty.

There is no “somewhat” about it. It’s shitty.

Remember when Hendry kept that pitcher who Dusty killed on the 60 Day DL so he could get his full pension? Those days a long gone.

not to come to their defense or anything, but they did that last year for Descalso.

Maybe they could re-sign JD so he could get his.
