I don't understand why every team doesn't just bunt with the first guy and then hope to (at least) hit a sac fly or grounder to the right to get the run in

 

I know, right? the cubs, for instance, ALWAYS get a guy in from 3rd with less than 2 outs.

That’s a really tricky/nuanced play. Rizzo was right, I think, but needs to communicate there.

 

Edit: though based on the replay rizzo might have made the right play by accident by just missing the bag

good grief, why not tag the bag Rizzo?

 

To ensure the run didn’t count on the dp. you gotta scream that out when you’re inches from the base though

Wait, what did I miss? How does not tagging first keep a run from scoring?

If Javy realized the force was still on, he could finish the 3-6-3 and end the inning. If the force is gone then the runner at 3rd just has to cross before the tag at 2nd
